Ayu's PV's becoming cheap?
 

WEll i don't know if you guys noticed this but i noticed something different.
As you know, Fairyland was a very expensive PV to make. Costing a lot for Avex. And If you have already watched Heaven you might've noticed that it doesn't move a lot and its in only one area. And it was a very simple and basic PV. Not difficult or expenive. Only the actors in the back ground.
So ya, is it just me or is avex just out of money to make Heaven a better PV?
I thought it was a good PV but too simple

Anyways, what do you guys think about this topic?

I believe that the meaning for the PV's simplicity was not to have complication, but just have the song speak for itself.

She probably did alterna after fairyland, and was that one 'simple' like HEAVEN? No. It was very breathtaking.. her next few PVs will probably go back to the two-five ayus per PV ;D

LOL! I am wishing for that! You can never have too many Ayu's in a PV! I think Fairyland swallowed up a big budget, so they had to make more emotional PV's with smaller money.. Its not easy to do that, if Ayu acted wrongly, the HEAVEN PV would have bacame horrible and cheap. Instead she made the PV look so sad, tear-jerking and beautiful.. I hope there's more PV's like STEP YOU and SURREAL in the future! More Ayu's in different clothes! :luv2

I'd ask someone to translate what she says in the 9.10 Music Station, but.. xD I dunno if anyone can! :[ Since she seems to talk about the PV..

I don't care what Ayu does for a PV as long as she keeps making them as great as they have been till now! (and aslong as she doesn't do a stupid generic pop PV of her dancing in some weird colorful place *coughsBOAcoughs*)

I don't think expense and complexity determine whether a PV is good. As long as the message is conveyed to the viewer, it doesn't matter whether $2mil or $100K.

Uhh, no. :) It was meant to be simple and just because it looks simple, doesn't mean that it was easy to film.

Heaven was just simply meant to be simple, that's all. At least that is what I firmly believe. ^_^ beautiful, and simple was what I got it was supposed to be.. to focus more on the song, and the video wasn't meant to be flashy, out there, attention grabbing.
It was supposed to be gentle, simple, and pull at yer heart strings.

The female host (don't know her name, though it might not matter considering the rotating door policy on the female co-host) opens up with a comparison of "fairyland" to "HEAVEN" (fun but expensive filming the former vs. a very simple, one-cut on the latter). Then they say general things about one-cut filming.

Agreed. I understand what the topic creator is trying to convey, but I doubt it has anything to do with budget. It's just a simple PV for a simple song, and simple can be beautiful. Sometimes simple is better. Just think back to her similar PVs, like Daybreak or CAROLS.

Simple. All you do is hit "quote" on the first post you want to reply to, copy it, then go back and quote the second thing, and paste the first one into it as well. Heh. I love your av by the way. Ayu looks good there.

Everyone has a money saver PV once in a while. xD;; I don't know if they were trying to cut costs, but the PV was still very effective in conveying the song's message anyway.

...unlike Utada's Hikari PV. XDDD

Ayu does what she wants with her PV's...if she wants it to be simple, then its simple

I do agree that HEAVEN was a money saver PV (after fairyland and alterna being such expensive ones being made at the same time), but that doesn't make it cheap, really. HEAVEN was very well made, and the CG took a lot of work. It's very powerful, and it gets the message across. Simple works for the song.

Daybreak had a one-shot video also, but I feel that didn't work quite so well there. While Ayu looked BEAUUUUUUTIFUL in that PV, and the actual film was gorgeously shot, I feel it didn't really speak enough. It just had the sort of "traveler" thing going on. But still, I wouldn't call it cheap, just because the quality was so good. It was just skimpy compared to the 200% Ayu's stuff normally gives.

hahah yeah i was thinkign it was bcos of fairyland! ^^ but there's an alterna or maybe alterna was made first before fairyland and it was indoors ^^
but i guess it's because about the song had to be simple and the pv shoul dbe like that too! it suits the song well! ^^
