Ebay Vendor (awesome stuff, pain in the *** prices)

I just found this ebay seller while searching for Ayu stuff at ebay.
he's got the most amazing stuff (like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ASH-DIAMONDS-Ham...QQcmdZViewItem) unfortunately his price expectations are somewhat... hmm lets say utopian (rather dystopian though).

I mean maybe I'm just being naive, but I really think that some of that stuff is way too expensive... what do you think?

Well some rare stuff rises up pretty high on ebay but I think I heard of that seller and he/she sells some stuff at an expensive rate.

I know what seller you're talking about without even clicking. Yeah, it's extortionate. But people buy it so i guess more power to the guy.

Hehehe I know him... but he's very opportunist!! all items are sooo expensive! U_U I would like to know, where does him get that items from? Life's hard~~

Aisha_Angel 21st December 2005 05:04 AM

I KNOW! It used to make me so ANGRY...but now I just don't care. I'll get an Ayu item whenever I can, it's no big deal to me anymore like it used to be.

However, hopefully I'll be able to find an Ayu phone strap SOON...^^ without the price tag of of 300+. (just because it's not a big deal to me right now, doesn't mean it'll always be that way) >then again, who wouldn't snag a Ayu phonestrap at a good bargain?

oh i know that seller~ very trustworthy, i bought a magazine from him before, he/she does over price his/her items

that seller has ALOT of rare Ayu things!

Jennie Mae 21st December 2005 07:18 AM

Yeah, I've bought from ayumi_showcase plenty of times. He's cool, but yeah, horrible prices.
We clearly shop at the same places though. I found a poster I wanted in Japantown but didn't have enough to buy it. When I came back for it, it was gone, and then ayumi_showcase suddenly had the same one but for twice as much!
But that's what I get for sharing malls with him, lol.

devilayu 21st December 2005 05:52 PM

Yeah, he sells his items for extremely unreasonable prices. I have a feeling he has a friend in Japan or something since the items he sells are very common on Yahoo! Japan auctions. The auctions on Y!J are very cheap and even with shipping, it wouldn't amount to the cost he sells things for. still, no one seems to have problems with anything else since he's pretty reliable.

Delirium-Zer0 21st December 2005 06:24 PM

He may be upping the auction prices to cover shipping through a middleman in japan. The cost for that service is pretty high.

ohsixthirty 21st December 2005 06:30 PM

yep, i've seen this seller too. like everyone said, great items, but quite expensive. i've bought from him several times though. :)

What I meant (and heard through a rumor) was that he has a friend/relative in Japan who ships the stuff to America to the seller. This cuts down the middle-man pricing.

capitalism at it's best ^_^

I wish I had a friend in Japan.

bulmasman 21st December 2005 10:42 PM

lol i don't know how anyone could pay those prices lol. This is the best though :
Resident Evil: Umbrella Revolver

lol, $450... my friend bought 2 for less than £100 here

boogieordie 21st December 2005 10:43 PM

I've bought of number of Ayu items from him in the past - t-shirts, towels, posters, and a few other things. Some of the items he lists I would never pay as much as he asks for them, but others are quite reasonable considering how hard they are to get otherwise. Depends on what you're looking to buy. He is also VERY trustworthy. I would rather spend $50 and know I'm going to get my item, it's authentic, and it's going to be in great condition than gamble with an unknown seller who charges less.

miracleofsuzaku 22nd December 2005 02:34 AM

Ugh, you're right. He is a pain in the butt. He's creating a monopoly with his Japan-exclusive Ayu merchandises although his items are pretty nice.
330 bucks for a belt? *cough*price gouger*cough*

boogieordie 22nd December 2005 03:34 AM

How is he creating a monopoly? What's stopping other people from importing from Japan? What's stopping the bidder from using a proxy bidder to get stuff from japanese auctions?

Some of his prices may be a bit on the high side (the rest being astronomical...) but some are way better than using a proxy bidder where you have to pay for the item (which is already marked up..everyone who resells anything does this, it's how they make money) , shipping twice, and a fee for the proxy on top of that.

I don't see what complaining about somebody making money on this stuff is accomplishing. The person is obviously not doing it to be anyone's bud, he's in it to make money, this is why people sell things to begin with.
