Caroline Lufkin's First Album: Murmurs
Caroline Lufkin's first album has been completed and is set for release on March 6, 2006, but I think if you order it from her label they'll ship it early. It only has 9 tracks, but if they're as good as "Where's My Love" was, then it should be a great album!

(and they have a brother Jeff Lufkin who may have something in the works as well.) |
Jeff raps in one of OLIVIA songs (the "something" unconscious666)
Amazing news! thanks touchedstar! |
I just noticed her a couple of weeks ago on the Temporary Residence website and only later realized that this was Olivia Lufkin's sister. Might even have to check it out, seeing as she's on TR.

I downloaded it a while ago, but when I realised it was Olivia's sister I deleted the file immediately, lol. However, she is on TR, so I'll definitely try it.

Alright, it's playing right now. First impression: not bad at all. Sounds a bit like a poppier version of Noriko Tujiko's glitchpop. Not too crazy about the voice, but that's not a big issue. Will check out her album. :) |
^yep, i can respect your opinion. :yes
Noriko Tujiko and glitchpop? I've never heard of either of those. Sounds interesting. edit: wait, i looked it up...how have i never heard of glitchpop before...i LOVE what i've previewed thus far of different bands. |
It's definitely worth checking out. The Japanese are easily the best at it, the range of brilliant glitch artists they have is amazing. My personal favourite would be Noriko Tujiko (or Tujiko Noriko, depends where you're looking really), whose songs are immensily beautiful. Her entire discography is worth checking out; Shojo Toshi is my personal favourite.

Yes, "Where's My Love" is completely in english.
|
yeah, i fully expect the entire album to be in english seeing as how the two songs i've heard so far have been and its a u.s. release.
and sxesven, thanks a ton, i'm definitely going to be checking out a range of glitch artists. |

I've heard Where's my love, and it was really good. I think I'll try to get to know this artist better, it's just that she always reminds me of her sister Olivia, and I miss Olivia. Oh, please come back <3
|
It comes in a slipcase, apparently.
I love slipcases. ^-^ |
