New Mono album this March

Finally, finally, finally! After their brilliant 2004 release of Walking Cloud And Deep Red Sky, Flag Fluttered And The Sun Shined, the new Mono album will be released this March! The exact dates vary per medium (CD/LP) and location, but around that time you should be able to pick up a copy of You Are There.

Mono - You Are There

Tracklist:
01. The flames beyond the cold mountain
02. A heart has asked for the pleasure
03. Yearning
04. Are you there?
05. The remains of the day
06. Moonlight

Yearning was already released on the split EP with Pelican a while ago - and a great song it was, so I'm personally very much looking forward to this new album. The album was once again produced by Steve Albini and also seems to feature a variety of string instruments once more. The cover art looks brilliant as well, I must say (especially when compared to that of WCADRS, FFATSS) - and seems to be a variation on the cover of the split with Pelican (cover and regular version of the photo). Anyway, can't wait! Some more info:

I haven't really gotten around to checking them out yet, only managed to listen to one song (Life in Mono) although I quite liked it. Might get around to looking into them more on the weekend, any particular song recommendations you would like the suggest?

Life In Mono is, in fact, a song by a completely different Mono - a triphop band from the USA (if I'm not mistaken) rather than the post-rock band from Japan. ;) If you're wanting to check out Mono, make sure to listen to their 'Walking Cloud And Deep Red Sky, Flag Fluttered And The Sun Shined' album, which is, imo, their masterpiece. On the Mono website (here), you can download several songs, including the astonishingly beautiful Halcyon (Beautiful Days) from the aforementioned album - probably their best song. Their older work is great as well, but certainly noisier - although that's a rather relative term of course. However, the addition of strings on their later work even enhances the beautiful and pure melody found in their music. Anyway, just check them out!

Oops, haha, but I did check out a few tracks and I like their sound!

Took a browse if there were any of their CDs at the record store today after seeing your thread, didn't have any though.
