concert sales

I have been kinda wondering lately about Ayu's slaes in her concerts...

does she mostly sell out or come close?

Alot of people say she is losing her fan base but I just wondered if her sales in concerts were going down :)

LacusClyne 28th March 2006 02:19 AM

no, i remember the tickets are sold out.

alternarist 28th March 2006 08:12 AM

yeah ^ i agree!

her music MAY be going down, but her concerts are growing. They sell out just as easy as always, and the tours are getting bigger and bigger. The Arena Tour 2006 is the largest ayu-tour in history with 30 shows.

If you look at her site, you may notice that some sessions of her concerts were added on afterwards. If her concert tickets were not sold out, she wouldn't have to have extra sessions would she?

It seems to me that her concerts are quite popular. When I went last Saturday, there were soooooooooooooo many people! My Japanese friends were always impressed that I was ableto get tickets because they say Ayu tickets are hard to get. So it does seem like Ayu's concert are a hot commodity.

Lately it seems that more people like to hear Ayu live then on a recorded album.

Well, a lot of her revenue nowadays is probably from concerts and not CD sales :o [since a ticket is about less than two albums or a few singles]~

Or maybe not.. :[

Or maybe more and more people are getting just the mp3 file from iTunes music store instead of getting the real album.

i dont know if this is going to make any sense to u guys but i think concerts have always been more popular cos think about it this way: if i wanted to ayu concert, i wouldnt want to go alone. i would invite bf/gf, friends, family etc. to come along with me. but, as for cds, i could just buy 1 copy and just share it with my peers.

That's true.

Tickets cost 6000++ yen per person. Albums 3800 yen and singles 1800 yen...

Anywho, famous artists popularity should usually be judge by how quick their concerts sell. Ayu's cd sales are dropping, but she still has the same amount of respect as a few years back...

actually i think she performs in the reconfigured part of Saitama, so not the full capacity of about 35k. but thats not the point. i think its cos of her ear that she doesnt do larger venues.

jasjasss 23rd April 2006 04:46 AM

i mean in saitama she performs infront of 37,000. or less than that ?
does she use the full arena as in the full capacity of that stadium

marty518 23rd April 2006 05:44 AM

Ayu definitely sells out wherever she goes! My friend tried to get tickets, but there's a lottery system and our number never came up before the tickets sold out for the Yoyogi shows in Tokyo.

The tickets are like 7800yen a piece which is really cheap looking at concert tickets in America! That's like $70. It's weird though because all the tickets are the same price in the arena! There's no different price levels for good or bad seats.
Madonna charges $350 face value for her best seats, and I think Ayu has the same sort of status in Japan, so she could really make a lot more money! It's nice that she doesn't gouge people with high prices, though :D

I was at the concert in Saitama and it was definitely more than that. I believe the number was close to 30,000.
