Delta Goodrem

The one who broke plenty of records. It seems like one in three Australian houses is bound to have a copy of Innocent Eyes too. Anybody here listen to her? Here's some news...

By the way, I was supposed to upload her stuff for some members, but ever since the US music ban, I don't know what to do with Delta's stuff. They're Australian/UK but she's releasing some material in the US soon. So no downloads I guess.

Together We Are One
Her latest single which was the song she sang at the opening of the Commonwealth ceremony, reached #2 in Australia for the week. Not really as unbelievably successful as her other stuff, but still awesome. It's a great power ballad. Cool song. :D

Random Info From Wiki
Mistaken Identity
Goodrem's second album Mistaken Identity was released on November 7, 2004 and debuted at #1 in Australia, also charting in the UK, Germany and Switzerland. The album saw Goodrem once again working with songwriters such as Cathy Dennis, Gary Barlow and Matthew Gerrard ("Lost Without You") among others including Billy Mann (who has worked with P!nk and Jessica Simpson).

In Australia, "Mistaken Identity" the album's title track, debuted and peaked at #7 in January 2005. The track was not promoted as Goodrem was in the UK at the time, promoting "Almost Here" with Brian McFadden. "Mistaken Identity" went Gold, but did not stay in the chart for as long as her previous singles. In the UK, "Almost Here" debuted at #3, her equal best, although no further singles were released from "Mistaken Identity". "Almost Here" also debuted at #1 in Australia, going Platinum. On May 29, 2005, she released her fourth single from "Mistaken Identity" - the up-tempo track, "A Little Too Late". It debuted and peaked at #13, whilst Goodrem was touring the country. A fifth single, the ballad "Be Strong", was released on September 26, albeit as a digital-only release. The B-Sides featured live performances of "Be Strong" and "Last Night On Earth" from the tour.

Innocent Eyes
Her debut album Innocent Eyes was released on March 3, 2003, producing a record five #1 singles in Australia. She has writing credits on nearly every song on the album, including tracks written solely by her, making her the only international act or Australian female performer in history to be credited as performer and writer on four ARIA #1 hits.

The third single from the album was the title track; "Innocent Eyes". It debuted at #2, and peaked at #1 after two weeks at #2. In the UK, "Lost Without You," and the album, "Innocent Eyes" were being released, with the single debuting at #4, and the album debuting at #2, where it went onto sell over 750,000 copies.

She also released "Not Me, Not I" in the UK, where it went top 20, as a Christmas single, backed with two Christmas B-sides. "Predictable" was also released as the final single from "Innocent Eyes" in Australia, again hitting the #1 spot. A promo single of a remix of "Throw It Away", co-written by Cathy Dennis and former Take That star Gary Barlow was released to UK media early the following year, but was not released commercially.

Delta Goodrem has an amazing voice. Songs that I love are 'Born to try', 'Innocent Eyes', 'Lost without you', 'Butterfly' and 'Predictable'.
Lately we haven't heard much from her here in Holland, though.

Have both her albums. Was very impressed with the first, a little less so with the second, but I still very much enjoy her music.

I think she got boo-ed on the MTV Europe awards at Edinburgh and possible somewhere else too. She got a bad rep for alledgely being the reason why Brian McFadden left his wife , a former Atomic Kitten singer , and their son.

I think she stil has bad reputation in the UK , Atomic Kitten were really popular & people are on Brian's ex-wife's side.

Well, it's not really her fault, since skanky Brian left Kerry before Delta came along, right?

Raleigh 26th April 2006 03:17 PM

It's not Delta's fault. I doubt she forced him to leave his wife to date her.

yeah, Delta is such a sweetheart, that's the only controversy i've heard about her...before she was with Brian, Delta was dumped by this famous Australian tennis player "Mark Philippoussis", everyone hated him! in one of the news article they called him "The Poo" :D

Oh, the guy who screwed around with Paris Hilton or something?
I feel sorry for Delta because of it, since she wrote Out Of The Blue on him.

Raleigh 7th May 2006 12:16 PM

Yeah I think "Silence Be Heard" was written for him too..

It was late October
And the stars were up at night
I looked around but couldn't see the truth in you but I
Kept my dignity for me
But I felt that suddenly
I was all but deep inside
And couldn't hide anymore

Is this what I get for being a good person to you?
And all of the things I find out now, how could you do?
But I will not change
I will just grow from now on I know
Let the silence be heard

I agree, most probably.. now to verify whether it was an October.. :D

By the way anyone got her latest Japan version album? The new song "Flawed" is stunning!

Mad_Cactuar 28th October 2006 03:49 AM

I love the song a lot, it's beautiful. The album debuted quite ok in Japan.

Problem is, how do we get hold of that album? :shrug I hope they have OS versions.

Raleigh 28th October 2006 09:08 AM

CDJapan has it but the shipping is quite high.
