Instrument

if you could play any instrument in the world what would it be?

i'd have to choose either Guitar or piano.

Chireresu 3rd March 2003 09:34 PM

Violin or Flute

Well, I already play guitar, bass, and some keyboards (not my strongest point as far as music). But to learn a new one it would be cello. Or maybe drums, my drumming is terrible.

I gotta take music in school, so I chose the clarinet. I dont want to play it, but Im stuck with it now!

I've played piano for 8 years, but if I could choose another instrument it would be either the violin or a Japanese instrument.

A Les Paul, of course- what is that? A very nice electric guitar.... why not something that isn't a guitar? well, that wouldn't be as fun as playing my favorite songs :) I love guitar....

I want to play the Piano because I used to play it before. Now I forgot to play the piano. I regret stopping my piano lessons!

i already finished RCM grade 10 piano and have been playing flute in the school band around four years now. but i would love to learn how to play the violin, cello or clarinet.
now i don't like playing piano all that much since i was forced to play, but sometimes it's fun when i have nothing better to do.
when i first started playing flute, i always got dizzy cause of all the air and air support. now i can play way harder songs, i can support more air without getting dizzy and my tone has improved.
playing an instrument takes a lot of time and practice.

miruku 4th March 2003 06:31 AM

A Les Paul, nice. But I would rather have a custom built Paul Reed Smith which would be the only guitar I would most likely touch other than an Ibanez, Les Paul, or a Strat.

I stopped playing the piano in grade eight, when I ws at RCM Grade 5.

Then I played the Clarinet for two, the trumpet for half a year, and finally the glock for three years in my cadet band..
I've been instrument-free for two years (U_U)V

I am actually kind of split on that. In the technical sense, it is not playing an instrument. There is no notation or even tablatures for it. Not to mention the fact, that DJing is using someone else music.

But on the other hand, I do consider it to be art. It is not easy to do, I have tried. In that sense, it is like playing an instrument.

I have actually become quite intersted in DJ music over the past couple of years. I listen to a lot of stuff that puts DJing and virtuosic guitar playing together. Which sounds really awesome. One of my heroes, guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani, put out an album like that and it floored me. Really great CD called 'Engines of Creation'. That is kind of the direction I want to take my music that I right. The only problem is finding DJs in the area I live in. Especially DJs that would be interested in that type of project.
