"This Page Cannot be displayed"

Im not trying to be *****y or crabby, but does ahs take a really long time to load for anyone else? Im on dsl and it takes a loong time, then i get alot of the error pages "this Page Cannot be displayed"

especially when posting a reply or new thread :paperbag

or whatnot...

{edit} Just happened when posting this :laugh

It happens for me too, though I'm having a lot of internet troubles in general. I bet it's because we're so busy and have so many active members. *sigh* we're just too popular for our own good.

MariachiGurl2005 4th May 2006 02:00 AM

same here...what's wrong!?

chibi_sunny 4th May 2006 02:10 AM

Always happens to me. Sometimes I have to presh the "Refresh" button like a hundred times or actually go to www.ahsforum.com to have access.

Ayumi no Yume 4th May 2006 04:03 AM

It was really slow for me like... yesterday or something. I tried logging in and I had to refresh an estimated 20 times before it finally went through.

~K+ 4th May 2006 04:54 AM

Happens almost everytime I try to start a new thread, so I always copy and paste what I'm about to post into a word document before I press that 'post thread' button. Otherwise I'd have to re-type a long long passage out again. http://www.ahsforum.com/forum/smilie...n_-_update.gif

I get the "page cannot display" message always the first time I try to access AHS. If I click the page one more time I'm usually fine. The most annoying thing is when it happens when one's posting new threads and posts.

darkswordz 4th May 2006 10:52 AM

this is quite common for me and i hate it!!!!
i usually use the back buttom and try again =X

alternarist 5th May 2006 07:08 PM

haha. it happens to me too!! to play safe, you should copy whatever you typed out first. den submit. if there is an error, click "refresh". it shld be up by then! if not try again later!! :):)

Hazuki 5th May 2006 07:26 PM

It appears a lot when I click on my link to AHS or when I use the "Post Reply" option.. Right now I'm using Quick Reply :x

Mirai Noah 5th May 2006 08:37 PM

Yup, I've been having the same problem.

LeButler 6th May 2006 01:31 AM

I can only apologise for all these issues.
We tried to upgrade AHS's service level when the problems began a few months ago but our webhost has run out of capacity. They can't offer us a faster machine for another 2 or 3 months :(

We're on the waiting list and once upgraded almost all such problems will go - and forum speed will be much faster too.

Ayumi no Yume 7th May 2006 08:10 AM

That's good news :yes
I can deal with a little wait for a better AHS. :yes

Do you use Mozilla too?
Could it be the browser? :shrug Well whether it's the browser or not, I'm not switching. :laugh

Yeah! I learned to do that after a while. I always end up posting like... two or three threads because of the error pages.

PickleCookies 22nd May 2006 12:02 AM

AHS is always slow. It's a real pain.

I offered skal another place to be hosted (a while ago), but she didn't take up my offer. :shrug
