real version of NOTHING of NOTHING?

I'm trying to buy NOTHING FROM NOTHING, but I want to know if I am buying the real one. The seller tells me it's a re-release and it's a regular CD (not the small 3" ones). How do I tell it's the real deal?

Norrel 9th June 2006 01:58 AM

Well how much is the seller selling it?

And do they have a picture of it?

It's the single version they are selling and for quite cheap actually. I told them to post the picture and it had Ayu's name written in kanji. I also told him if it was the original version and he said he didn't know how to tell which is why I posted here. How can you tell? lol

Message from seller:
Hello,
I don't know if it's overseas or not. Not sure of how to check either. If you know how, please let me know.

Yes, it's a re-issue that was quickly withdrawn.

Thanks!

the best of my knowledge, this single has been re-issued later in the 'usual' size, but apparently withdrawn from sale almost immediately after some copyright issues:

So it's the real one?

Norrel 9th June 2006 02:45 AM

Can you post the pic?

edit

Nevermind, I found it. It looks like the one in the eneabba page. But I saw this product before on another ayu board, and I think they came to a conclusion it was fake.

This is a picture of the real single cover.

If the picture given does not look like this, it's 99% likely it's a bootleg.
The other 1% stands for it could possibly be the Album.
And unless it's not about $100, I doubt it's the real thing. Still, you get the rare media, bootleg or not; But if it is a bootleg, there's also a small chance you'll find the same media on the internet for free.

If it's "cheap" then I really doubt it's the original version :/
If he seller says "re-release" than it's probably a bootleg...

truehappiness 9th June 2006 11:57 AM

:/

But nick's site says that they rereleased Nothing from Nothing but then had to pull it off the shelves due to problems with the copyrights.. :[

Ayu's name written in strict Kanji (3-character 浜崎歩 rather than 5-character 浜崎あゆみ)? It's Chinese. Is this the one presently on EBay? I saw it, and I'm pretty sure it's a Chinese re-release.

Yukitora 9th June 2006 03:03 PM

^Maybe back then she still used her real name (written in kanji).

Not seeing the picture, I'm not sure if it's real or not but from what I'm reading, I think you are making a mistake :P THe re-issue is NOT a bootleg, but now illegal due to copy-rights regulations. When Ayu became popular, her first recording studio re-released the CD but it was forced to be taken off shelves do to her new contract with Avex.

But I don't think the single was released in the "normal" CD size so I think it's the album, not the single...

That re-release was never authorized for creation or sale by Nippon Columbia. It was released by Ho-Son, a well-known bootleg company, without the consent of the original publishers. By definition, it's a bootleg. The quality of the sound is fine, but the graphics are cheap (the disc looks tacky) and the lyrics for NFN and PD on the inside are really badly done; they're all in hiragana (no kanji at all) and have no marks for softening the consonants (i.e. "ga" is written as "ka", "bu" and "pu" are written as "fu", etc). It's basically a piece of crap. But it's fun to have if you want everything.

^Thank you for the deep going information. I've been wondering about it for quite some time.
