Where was Beautiful Fighters filmed?
Does anyone know for sure. I seriously think it's in the U.S.
Here are some screencaps that might prove it too. The street sign says EAST SUNSHINE IN & the mailbox says U.S. Mail. http://img476.imageshack.us/img476/7640/capture28cn.jpg Ayu "works" at Capitan Candy http://img73.imageshack.us/img73/3465/capture38qa.jpg Behind says American Hot Dogs http://img70.imageshack.us/img70/2598/capture46sc.jpg Ayu's dancer "works" at Texaco http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/4373/capture54xp.jpg Also the fact that Luis Hernandez was the director of the PV and he directed Ayu's PVs while she was in NY makes me think this was filmed in the US. Ideas anyone? |
In the top left hand corner, the green sign is in Japanese o__o"
And it does look US-ish. |
Well Los Angeles & NY both have "Japanese Towns" and all their signs are in Japanese too.
It's really strange. :P |
That sign says Sunshine Ln (as in Lane), not Sunshine In (as in Indiana). :yes

But do they have Texaco in Japan O.o |
Well, I'm sure it's not NYC, just look at the plants and palmtrees. If it's US it's rather California than NYC. But could it be Okinawa arranged as US?... I guess it could, becouse putting a mailbox and a streetsign is no problem, but that restaurant? And there's a lot of non-Asians... 0.o
EDIT: I've finished watching it and.... Lol, they spent so much money (it looks like it) and time to film it and the effect is... not even medium. The PV is pretty lame-ish. Gosh, it hurts so much, it could've been better! :headache If they have American restaurants in Okinawa, than I'd guess it's Okinawa... |
The US Mail sign and Sunshine Lane Sign obviously look like props to me. Plus there is Kanji written in the background. Also, look above the Texaco sign - there is not ceiling. That's a set.
Also, in the first pic, those trees in the background are the kind you see in Japan, not LA. Also the crosswalks look Japanese. (I know that's funny to say^_^) But LA crosswalks don't look that new. |
LOL, come to think of it... Is that a video about goofish Japanese working in America?
XD |

But now that you mention it, the sidewalk is too clean for it to be L.A. lol |
Why da hell the TEXACO signs and other writings around it are inverted???? During the same take, the camera pans right and you can see the menu tables near the celling -- they're written in the right 'order' so they didn't mirror the video image....
Or is it a mirror in there, behind the bar?.... |
^i haven't seen it but it looks like there is a mirror behind the bar.
|
hmm i think it tooks in US
|
If you watch the car scene in the making, the cars have Alabama licences. So that could be it. :)

Some of the places that were 'inside' were sets.. like the diner and stuff xD~
And possibly that wall+paint+guy's head scene.. |

And you can't use fake licence plates for moving vehicles, even if it's for movie/video-making. (And really, even if they were fake, why Alabama, right?? California would be much "cooler", if you know what I mean, haha) |
We should ask one of the extras!
|
The props (especially the mail box) look really fake though. Who knows. For all we know, it could even be an recreated American town in Japan.
|
I think I saw a Japanese license plate in the 'making of...' video on one of the real vans for the crew members... (It's in the scene w/her dog)
|
the making of shows alot more american looking people than japanese...i'm thinkin' the filmed in cali...
but the sign that says "american hot dogs" really throws me off. where in america would they specify american hot dogs? the sign would just say "hot dogs" i dunno. |
