I've been listening to the album for a couple of days and I'm more and more impressed. It's pretty amazing - the previews were a slight disappointment but now I love the album. Songs that seemed just OK the first time I listened to them ended up sounding far better the second and third time, etc., when I had an overall idea of what they were about and focused on the lyrics/emotion/details.

I really didn't expect it, but this isn't just a regular "very good" album (like Nelly's Loose and Utada's Ultra Blue this summer) that I can listen to multiple times and not grow bored with. I know I'll sound like a fangirl intent on hyping the album, but Back to Basics really has an emotional impact. Sure, there are sexy songs with explicit lyrics like Candyman and Nasty Naughty Boy, but I don't think Christina's ever felt the songs like this, whether she's singing about her love for her husband or her bad experiences in life. And Mercy on Me, wow. That song is made of awesome. For me, BTB proves that she's not just a technically talented singer; she's a more interesting artist than anyone else in her age group.

I have so much respect for Christina now. Even if this album doesn't sell well (though I hope it does!) or a lot of people dislike it, it'll be special to me.

The amount of hype for the album, I bet it'll sell well.

spookshow 6th August 2006 02:45 AM

we've already got a thread abt the album...

I love B2B -- it's a nice refreashing change from the usual pop. I think B2B will do great (not with the teeny-boppers, but with the more mature audiences)

I agre with Cyria that the previews didn't do the songs justice -- i was disappointed when I heard them, but hearing the full songs has definitely changed my oppinion!

LacusClyne 6th August 2006 03:35 AM

i'm waiting for my friend to burn for me....

is it better then her last album?

asterix 6th August 2006 07:54 AM

I just downloaded the album as well.

It's just so good. I will be buying the album on its release date!! Just so i can watch the video.

I think Christina Aguilera has one of the most amazing voice.
I don't understand why everyone love her first album. Sure it has hit songs like "Genie in the bottle" and "What a girl wants". But i think the songs are too typical. I actually only like her since her album Stripped.

I particularly dig the song "Trouble".

DerrickRocks 6th August 2006 08:49 AM

Ayufan85 6th August 2006 05:39 PM

Where can I download the album? Plzzzz :'(

firefox 6th August 2006 06:11 PM

am i the only one who find her new album terrible??? well i was never a xtina fan to begin with but i did like her dirty album

krishna 6th August 2006 06:45 PM

I've heard some of her songs in B2B albums.
I really really love Candyman and I got trouble.
But I must say that this album isn't as good as stripped.

Norrel 6th August 2006 07:40 PM

I wanna hear this album soo much :(

Nu-NRG 7th August 2006 01:40 AM

As a fan since the Genie in a Bottle days...this album is really different and unique, at first I wasn't too fond about this whole retro 20s/30s/40s style. Before the full album got leaked out..the previews was really turning me off and I was thinking uhmm...this album is going to flop so that's why she is making 2 discs...but she provens me wrong in so many ways..
Non of the songs there are filler tracks at all
and also I'm glad that her talent is being use wisely.
B2B=album of the year!

On Our Way is NICE!:love
the piano parts is genie in a bottle intro

i've been a fans since her genie in a bottle days but then she really blast me off with her "stripped" album.. i was like .. so damn crazy bout her over her stripped album!!

Nu-NRG :: that's why!! i knew the piano part was very very familier but i couldn't recall back which demo she used... so its genie in a bottle! thks~!

Ayufan85, DerrickRocks :: try torrent sites like that Nu-NRG said.. since the torrent is like so HOT these days as it just leaked only! quickly get it!! (i'm definately going to buy the album though...)

firefox :: its ok~ everybody has their own taste... don't worry with not liking xtina's song! :D if u need some recomendation, xtina's "Fighters", "Beautiful", "Dirrty"," Soar", "Can't Hold Us Down", "The Voice Within" (damn its like A LOT OF SONGS in stripped album is so damn good...) from the album stripped. i haven't finish listening the BTB album but so far, "Makes Me Wanna Pray","Ain't No Other Man", "Oh Mother", "On Our Way" from the album "BTB" ... enjoy~

Cyria :: her lyrics has been very special since her stripped days... her "come on over" days are still typical candy pop type song but her stripped album has alot of deep lyrics that says a lot about her and i adore her! the lyrics really inspires me in my life! high 5!

krishna 7th August 2006 04:16 AM

Anyone can tell me what happen between christina and Scott Storch.
From what I've heard,F.U.S.S stands for F**k U Scott Storch.
I haven't downloaded F.U.S.S. Are they in fight?
Btw, enter the circus is awesome and save me from myself is my favourite track now.

The album sell well too.=P

Mad_Cactuar 7th August 2006 01:41 PM

I hate hate hate her for her image and some of her songs, but there's no denying her vocals and her catchiness. I particularly like Ain't No Other Man, Candyman, and I Got Trouble so far. Haven't listened to the whole CD yet. I'm loving the golden era feel.

jasonrey 7th August 2006 02:00 PM

Ayufan85 :: try mininova
