Jamelia, anyone?

OMG, DID YOU GUYS LISTEN TO HER NEW SINGLE? Ok, Jamelia released a new album lately. It's called Walk With Me and the first single "Something About You" hit #9 in the UK 2 weeks ago. Her next single (and the mega-freakin-awesome one) is called "Beware Of The Dog" and it's simply unbelievably crazy in a great way. My only gripe is that the song feels so darn short!

Anyway, let me introduce Jamelia to those who don't know her.

"Superstar" was the second single from UK R&B star Jamelia's second album Thank You. The song, released in the UK on 15 September 2003, was a sleeper hit, entering the UK top 10 at #8 but as airplay, videoplay and the general awareness of the track increased, after a month on the UK singles chart, the track climbed to a peak of #3. "Superstar" became the 26th biggest selling single of 2003, the first appearance for Jamelia in the official chart of the year.
There, done. If you haven't heard "Superstar", you live under a rock somewhere in Anaheim. Or you already heard it but never realized.

I Loved Superstar, So Funky and Up Beat. I Used to Dance along to it for Days 'Cause I Loved it so Much. Anything After that I Haven't Listened too.

I Slightly Recall hearing her 'Thank You' song, but that Didn't Impress me Much.

Sorry, Cyria. I assumed only Americans hasn't heard it but forgot that Scandinavia isn't exactly smack in the middle of Europe. :dead2 I'mma upload "Beware Of The Dog" or "Something About You" on YSI now!

By the way, her song "Stop" was featured in the movie Bridget Jones' Diary: The Edge Of Reason.

Something About You
Beware Of The Dog

Download, it's a zipped file of both songs. I can't wait to see this in stores and just grab it of the shelves. :D I loved "See It In A Boy's Eyes" too! It was so unique yet catchy.

the remix of "see it in a boy's eyes" is very catchy too! have you heard it?

and jamelia sung a beautiful cover of Linkin Park's "numb" -- she sings it with such emotion

Cyria 3rd October 2006 04:20 PM

Thanks for sharing the files!

Beware Of The Dog, crazy. Reminds me of Sugababes' Freak Like Me when it comes to awesomeness. Something About You didn't leave such a strong first impression, but now that I've listened to it a couple of times I like it better.

I loved Superstar, I love Something About You. I think I'll get her album pretty soon, sad to see it at such a low place in the UK. :(

Mad_Cactuar 3rd October 2006 10:39 PM

And for some weird reason, Something About You was the first single when there are so many great tracks. But her first single from Thank You wasn't as good or successful as the subsequent singles, so she might be repeating the same thing here. I love the verses, it reminds me of Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone".

I know! :( She was so successful a few years back, I think the public hasn't warmed up to the album. Hopefully, "Beware Of The Dog" gets the album in the top 10.
