WinRAR is a program to compress files. It's a very helpful tool if you're going to upload an album. Just like WinZIP, it compress the album into a smaller one single file, and its compression is much better than WinZIP (as it can compress files smaller than WinZIP).

And when you're downloading album via internet that has been compressed with WinRAR, the program can extract/unpack the files for you, since WinZIP cannot extract files compressed by WinRAR.
