RuPaul is an American drag performer, dance music singer, actor, and songwriter who gained worldwide fame in the 1990s;
appearing in a wide variety of television programs, films, and musical albums.

Though a catty attitude is often associated with drag queens,
RuPaul intentionally displayed a "love one another" attitude to be set apart from them.

Some of his better known songs include "Supermodel(You Better Work)", "Snapshot", and "Looking Good, Feeling Gorgeous".

Actually, I think we actually do already have a RuPaul thread that WAS started by Steven, but I could be wrong.

I haven't started one, so I'm glad you took it upon yourself to! I love Ru, she is one of my favorite drag queens and I can't get enough of her music. The feel-good dance vibe of it all is so infectious!

The first time I saw Ru...was on MTV Celebrity Deathmatch. XD
I googled her afterwards and found her quite interesting. Read some history and found out that she was quite big in the early years.

I wish I could post her music here. I can post her more recent stuff since she owns it, but I have to remove the copy protection first. iTunes=annoying. :laugh

obviously since i was 3 at the time i wasn't aware that she was a drag queen and used to think she was a very beautiful woman :laugh

The only thing I know about RuPaul is that he/she told some old guy that he wore diapers at MTV music awards which caused some controversy an dso on. But other than that....:shrug

I have vague, vague memories of RuPaul on TV when I was little <3 I know I didn't understand what drag was then but I know I found her amusing <3

(And I definitely love drag now!)

Ru was on Howard Stern's TV show recently promoting Starrbooty and I just watched the episode today. It's a hoot, it had me laughing all over the place! :laugh
