Change of lyrics? no more words

Just the other day I was watching original Japanese trailers for the first Inuyasha movie (Affections Touching Across Time) on its DVD. It has tons meshed together, but the first trailer especially caught my eye.

Towards the end, they played Ayu's「no more words」because it's the theme for the movie. The thing that really caught my attention... the lyrics were different!

I'm not sure if one's already made a thread like this or has asked the question already, but does anyone know what the "other" lyrics are? Only one line was changed, too.

I'm trying to write them down, but a) I suck at doing so and b) It's hard to make out because of the characters' voices yelling at each other. xD This is what I have...

Quote:

konna chippoke de chiisana boku de shika nai
kimi ni ima sugeru beki koto ... ?
kotoba wa sou amari ni mo toki ni muryoku da kara
The bold and italicised part is the changed part. All I can really make out is "kimi ni ima." Everything else after that is kind of like lksjdhfladf.

Anybody know of this? Is there a way I can rip just that bit from the DVD so people can download it to listen?

Whaa??! O_o" Really weird.. In which part of the song? I dont have the movie here, but I`ll find it on youtube.
Btw in original lyrics it goes:
konna chippoke de chiisana boku de shika nai
ima wa kore ijou hanasu no wa yametoku yo
kotoba wa sou amari ni mo toki ni muryoku da kara

Sorry I cant find it... That`s what you get when you borrow your dvds. Can you tell me the time when it starts? I saw long ago so I forgot..

If there was some way for me to rip the DVD and get just that one little bit, I'd be happy to give a downloadable link.

Oh, yeah, the lyrics stayed the same in the end of the movie. I found the changed lyrics only in the trailers.

Diana 17th July 2007 07:26 PM

Wait wait.. Just in the trailers? Or in the movie while they are fighting or something.. I really don`t remember if they put it there but.. I`ll try searching on youtube again. I only get parts of movie :(
For ripping, dunno. I still haven`t found a program myself :(
And can`t find the damn trailer!! For movie 2,3 and 4 but no the first... IF SOMEONE FINDS - POST!! I wanna know what`s going on with this lyrics change :P

^ Yes, the changed lyrics were only in the trailers, and I can't make them out because of the announcer's and the characters' voices. The song is also at the ending credits, but the lyrics are the original, normal ones.

Yep... I know for the ending. I don`t know... I`ll ask someone for the trailer or something... :)

Didn't this happen to quite a number of the songs on I am...?

thugz_passion 18th July 2007 12:53 AM

thats odd
its not like ayus lyrics are explicit or anything of that nature

Not that I am personally aware of... Curse you strange yet lovable album!

Sometimes I wonder if the "changed" lyrics fit more to the Inuyasha theme or something. I could be totally off, though... xD

I can't check it atm, but I'm pretty sure Naturally and/or Still Alone had different lyrics in the CM version. I'm not sure if UNITE had too.

no_way_to_say 19th July 2007 11:50 AM

maybe it is to do with the fact that she changed the cover last minute, which indicates that the meaning she wants to convey with the album changed, so she had to change the lyrics right before the album was released.

i know it happened also with UNITE! i'm not sure which, but one of the remixes on the UNITE! single has the old lyrics still.

Diana 19th July 2007 07:00 PM

Weird O_o" Yeh, it may be the meaning of the song with that cover no_way_to_say mentioned.. Don`t know

The lyrics to "Voyage" changed as well...it was different when it was featured in "My Little Chef". The meaning didn't change much though.

Just like the differing music in CM versions of songs the lyrics may be revised upon the release of the standard released version. It would be very unlike Ayu to tailor lyrics to fit a TV show/CM as its her intention to be honest and clear at all times.

Zachery! 14th February 2008 04:41 PM

Wow, that is pretty weird.

And I agree with Nicolas, changing lyrics to fit a TV show IS un-ayu.

Nicolas 20th February 2008 01:56 PM

What would be weird was if her lyrics remained the same from the day she put pen to paper to the day they were released.
The creative process, most often, is not a literal, straightforward one.
