what could Avex be hiding from us?
 

there's always extra tracks that were ultimately shelved or scrapped...*unlike American music, when those songs always either leak out or are released in other countries* sometimes these songs come out to be really awesome...i was just thinking, just how many songs like this does Ayu have? it would seem kinda unlikely that she would allow one of her songs to be scrapped, but yu never know. it would be interesting to uncover these songs, wouldnt it?

I wonder too. Ever since we learned that 'It was' was meant for (miss)understood, you can only wonder how many other songs were meant for that album but never made the cut.

I'm betting that there's a few CREA masterpieces in the vault, she was probably like 'Ew these songs suck, I'm never composing again!'

There's an infinite number of possibilities, really.

I mean, they do demo a bunch of songs [like 12-20] to her and then she chooses from there and writes lyrics based on melodies she likes..

That's not always true. I read somewhere that Beyonce made like 30 songs for B'DAY and she only picked 10. Even after the Deluxe Edition, and the Worldwide Versions, she hasn't released all of them.

ANYWAY. I'm sure ayu has quite a bit of songs shelved. From each album, I'm sure a good chunk of songs get shelved.

( btw...no wonder 'It was' sounds so out-of-place...I think it would've been better on (miss)understood... )

^ oh wow, ive never read one of those from Ayu before...i kinda wished that guy wouldve asked her what she was saying in the opening though haha...just to ease the millions of people askings' minds.

Maybe in the future after Ayu retires, they'll make a CD of unreleased material.

I don't know; I think Ayu is a pretty big perfectionist to start with. I could see her scrapping songs she doesn't like. Oh well...I guess we'll never know unless avex/Ayu says something.

It's a great money spinner for the label's once the artists finally retire (or, you know, die).
There have been recent Elvis/Beatles/Jimmy Hendrix releases that have contained 'new songs'.
With the whole 'It Was' being left over, that doesn't always work out. Gwen Stefani's 'Sweet Escape' was half of the left over's from her 'LAMB' album, and the fact they weren't good enough first time around really shows.

Demo's are usually interesting as they give the song a whole new take. Shelved tracks however can dissapoint.

^ its likely that that one was trashed, cuz if they recorded and used the second take, they wouldnt have kept the original.

I think probably most of the Secret album tracks aside from Jewel, 1 Love & Momentum were probably tracks that she had already written but decided against publishing. That would explain how she managed to put them all together within two weeks or whatever ;)

^ haha that makes sense..gosh, i remember when that announcement about the full album was made...everyone was like OMG HOW IS SHE DOING THAT?!?! I HOPE THE PRICE DOESNT GO UP! ZOMG I ALREADY PREORDERED 14 OF THEM!

Well, but then, there's also the chance that she could have written most of those songs during the huge hiatus from BLUE BIRD single release.It's obvious that she didn't write all those songs in 2 weeks, but the possibility that she could have written a great part of those songs along with 1LOVE, JEWEL, momentum and etc, isn't really remote, because she had several months (and not really just 2 weeks - an announcement doesn't mean they've started to work in a project at that exact moment-) to produce Secret.
