4 personalities:
green = happy
black = emo/mad/whatever
white = shy
red = rebellious/sexy (hairdryer warrior XD)
yellow = regular?

^ agreed, but eh, not sure if the PV has a meaning.

You can't just have one part of Ayu's personality, you gotta have it all? I dunno. xD

Eh... sora you just lost friendship points.

I got this interpretation when I watched the PV with the lyrics. They were very in-sync with the PV!

The song talks about a girl who's fallen head over heels about this guy, who's crush quickly develops into an obsession where then she asks herself (or the audience) whether or not they will try their hardest to be themselves or simply fall into the trap of this one sided "love" (this part is sung in the bridge).

In short, the four Ayu's represent the different progressive stages of affection and response that the girl goes through as in the lyrics portray.

blue ayu: (initial) flirty, innocence, just playing around
Quote:

Talking about nothing at all,
We acted in a moment and displayed our habits.
black ayu: (second verse) the darker, real ayu symbolizing her progression of obsession

Quote:

"Where are you, what are you doing around this time?"
Right after I thought such things,
Even for just a moment,
I wanted you to remember me.
I wished for YOU and ME
white ayu: (second chorus) confusion over whether to put her head before her heart or vice versa
red ayu: (bridge) portrays the girl/image of the girl who gave into her obsession over the boy, who asks Ayu if she'll be strong or give in aswell.

Quote:

The gap between idealism and reality
Is so very cutting
And as we cannot cut them off, they are opening up.

In this place, will we give up?
Or will we persevere and do our very best?
The chorus reinforces these ideas of being obsessive and out of mind which are complemented with the 1.2.3.4.'s creating this child-like effect.

Quote:

SO 1.2.3.4, for a while
1.2 STEP you, sometime soon
I am becoming greedy

1.2.3.4, for a while
1.2 STEP you, sometime soon
Will I begin to want only your smile?
Whilst the robot man at the beginning might represent the man that she wants (the rotating thingo showcasing the different ayu's might be the girl saying "which of me do you like?") and finally the resolution of the girl's inner conflict is visible with the climax of the PV with the rain falling onto the "complete" ayu (rain often symbolizes salvation) and the other four ayu disappears - symbolizing that she got over him.

Anyhow that's what I got from watching the PV with the translated lyrics on - you should rewatch it to with subtitles to get a clearer idea!

*sniffles* WHY??????

TuNaRoLl1024 3rd October 2007 12:02 AM

yukitora that was great ;)

that makes so much more sense i never looked at it from that perspective :)

thanks everyone :)

ummm i think that maybe:

the first ayu is the innocent, first-glance ayu

the posh-ayu is suggesting the part "no one can stop me now"?

the shy-ayu is in the part worrying whether she will be noticed or remembered.

maybe the red-ayu does represent her determination despite that?

i do think the final ayu is the complete ayu :)

those are my thoughts...
