How well do you know song lyrics?
 

The Rules
Step 1: Put your music player on shuffle.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 10 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
Step 3: Bold the songs when someone guesses both artist and track correctly. Also, edit the answers in once guessed.
Step 4: For those who are guessing -- looking the lyrics up on a search engine is CHEATING!
Step 5: The person who guesses the last song in the current list gets to post their list next.


Notes: For now, English lyrics only please, no translations. Please save a list of answers for reference in case you forget!

Also, if it is an alternate version or remix of a song that shows up on your player, it may begin with different lyrics than the original. Please post the original lyrics unless it is distinguishably different.

Well I suppose we could use translations too, it's just that there could be inconsistencies in how each song is translated and confusion would arise. Do you think we should try it?

Correct, it's ABBA! Madonna actually only sampled Gimme Gimme Gimme in her song "Hung Up." I probably would have died if she covered it. :laugh

I wasn't aware this game was on Facebook too. Somebody showed it to me on LiveJournal and I thought it would go over well here.

Way to go Jake on the Tori lyrics! I figured people would get that one last. :laugh I feel kinda dumb now that I actually created the thread and didn't think too hard about how this was going to go down. We could do multiple quizzes simultaneously but I think sorting out the replies would get a bit confusing. On the other hand, if we only did one at a time, it would be hard to choose who goes after who.

Anybody have any ideas?

I'm fine with that rule if everyone else is! :) If things get slow on the guessing end the person with the list can give hints so we can give other people a turn.
