The reason for the Mirrorcle World butterflies :O

I dont think this is topic-worthy of posting but idk where else to post it soooo

I just noticed that there are a ton of MW looking butterflies in the end of the Depend on you PV o____O Do you think that's where MW got the butterflies theme from? I think it is because IMO butterflies dont have a connection with the song itself.. And the nakedness is a LOVEppears reference? :D

WillofDusk 27th June 2008 05:04 PM

I dont see the relation :P

It's just some cover arts.

Butterflies are symbols of dreams and darkness. It's fair to chose them as a theme for mirrorcle world's covers :D

It's possible, since Doy was, as you know, brought back for this single. That's an interesting observation.

Like what mizu_akira_ayu said, MW's butterflies has a symbolism on it. :)

BTW, the butterflies there are SO PRETTY! :)

Deneb 27th June 2008 05:16 PM

it looks good doesnt it?

tokyoxjapanxfan 27th June 2008 05:16 PM

that's an interesting take on the butterflies :)

here are my 2 cents:
butterflies can also be a sign of rebirth/transformation--they go from an ugly little caterpiller to a coccoon to a butterfly. so maybe ayu is naked as a way to show she's "transformed" from her old self, to her current self?

Aggar 27th June 2008 05:23 PM

^ tokyoxjapanxfan your way of thinking is too deep. I really like your interpretation.

to make it more deeper, why are there 6 butterflies? what is she referring?

as for me , I think it's just an album art. nothing more or less.

alternarist 27th June 2008 05:58 PM

it MAY be linked.. but i do not know.. but that's something worth noticing..

Melrose 27th June 2008 06:47 PM

hehe good points

Its always funny how we can see symbolism in Ayu's stuff and make it seem right, while maybe they just randomly picked stuff out and our laughing at our speculations :P

The relation just came to mind because Doy is on MW ^^ I like the symbolism of the butterflies too.. like after 10 years she's grown into a new artist or something? idk I think her older work has more value so I think of her as being a butterfly since LOVEppears lol

these are exactly my thoughts.

you forgot to mention 8or not, because it's quite obvious, but i want to note it anyway) that it's her commemoration for her 10th anniversary, which reinforces the idea of transformation through these years.

as regards the number of butterflies, i think that was random.

When I was watching the Depend on you PV to later compare the two versions [original + 10th], I noticed the butterflies too and made a similar connection.

How about her breakup with her bf?

aqua_crystal 28th June 2008 10:01 PM

^^Oh? You mean Nagase? I honestly don't think that has anything to do with the butterflies. :p

I meant her feeling like a new person after breaking up with Nagase or her recovering from the breakup...I mean, the shorter version of Mirrorcle World was on GUILTY, and almost the entire album referred to their relationship...(just a suggestion, don't kill me here! :D)

aqua_crystal 28th June 2008 10:53 PM

^^Maybe... but it's been a long time since she broke up with him it would be weird if she did something like that now. But you've got a point.

Kill you? WTF?!

♥ you! 28th June 2008 10:55 PM

Oh wow I totally forgot about the butterflies in the DOY pv. There's also that butterfly room/lady in the Ladies Night pv..but I don't think they are related :P

Bashumaru 28th June 2008 11:27 PM

I think they just wanted butterflies so the cover wouldn't look to empty XD.

LOL I got the idea from watching the 10th anniversary PV version, too.

BTW IMO the number of butterflies wasn't random, it was chosen like that because it looks good composition-wise ^_^
