Moving discussion over from the other thread.

It's not really girls that are buying Shuchishin en masse and I don't really consider them a typical boyband either. It's more of a comedy unit made up of people from the variety tv world. They have a big appeal to salarymen and other groups that have an interest in owarai tv shows and variety shows. Every year Japan comes out with these fad units from the comedy world and they are successful but rarely last long.

The number one for the month though, won't be Ayu or Shuchushin. Kat-tun will be number 1.

No no, you got the title right. :) Are there any new releases next week other than the comedy unit?

There's a limited Tohoshinki thing coming out, but I believe this week and the next will be the "Oh hi, I combine two weeks four the new year!" Oricon week.. (the comedy unit sold their single the week before Ayu's single)

So it's possible Ayu could sell a bit more than we think and rank a bit higher than we believe. (Also, Kouhaku will probably help a ton of people with sales.. lol.)

The thing is... she's going to sing MW, not Days, on Kouhaku. I doubt it will help boosting up Days' sales.

Never said it'd help Ayu. But other artists obviously have boosts due to Kouhaku from the numbers we see post-Kouhaku.

I was just saying that perhaps she might have a higher position [like top 3] in the two week totals rather than a lower one.

i knew this single will top the charts and be sold i MANY copyes :D
it's just too good not to sell high ;P

Lol she dropped to 4th on the 1st day but she's #1 on the 4th day. Interesting play on numbers =D.

An index of 1.4 and it's number 1? I wonder what the index sales for the second spot are.

You could see for yourself at the Oricon website. They show the index #s for 1 through 3.
