Question: Has anyone seen subtitled version of the first Super Television Special?
 

Hi--just a general question. I know that there have been several (?) version of the second Super Television special (Light and Darkness) which was recorded during Hamasaki's 25th year. But I was wondering if there is a subtitle set for the first special, which was written before her first concert tour and featured some of her psychology around the time of her debut. I was thinking that I would like to write a translation of the transcript that might be made into subtitles, mainly as an exercise in translation. But also, I've long been a fan of Ayumi Hamasaki and I would like to do something for the fan community. Does anyone have a copy of the first Super TV special? Thanks for your interest (if there is any).

Yeah, I was thinking that I could try writing a subtitle-worthy translation; probably something that is in more conversational English so that it is easy for people follow. I tried to do one some years ago, but I think my Japanese has improved since then. In any case, I'll take a look at the link you posted. I haven't seen this special in several years, so I can't remember much of the content. I do remember that it has a great deal to do with her first album and her evolution as her own producer. Since it was shot before she became such a phenomenon (although she was already considered a living "charisma" [charismatic figure]), it has some really candid things in it, especially her reaction to being misunderstood and parodied in the media at that time.

I'm still kinda messing with it off-and-on. My Japanese has gotten much better since I did the 2004 one, but I just haven't had much time (I'm still working on that font too x_x!!)... in order to succeed in life I've had to kinda fail as an Ayu fan :P~
