cmon people! america needs variety! >< it's sad going to a store, finding stuff of all kinds of artists, yet they never have anything close to what you're looking for >< If anyone ever sold Ayu cds around here, they'd get a lot of business cause i'd end up buying their stuff out ;)

Entertainment stores in Chinatowns across the nation have a lot of JPop and KPop CDs as well. I got my copy of "A Ballads" from one.

Is there a FYE in Manhattan, New York City? I think there is..

Oh.. the record store "Virgin" sells Jpop cds.. but they are a little pricy.. I only saw Ayu and Hikki cds, but haven't been there in a year, so..

shinji1698 5th September 2003 04:03 AM

barnesandnobles sold free & easy for awhile..

The Sam Goody Music I used to work at carried a few Ayu CDs. That's actually how I got into her music like five years ago. I was stocking the import singles section and came across a CD of hers. Last CD I remember we had was the first Ayu Trance.

LX Ayu 5th September 2003 06:47 PM

FYE's do not carry Ayumi CDs. They have a specific book where they all contain what they can get and what they can't get. Since she isn't on there, they can't purchase any of her CDs... Barnes and Nobles I heard can get almost anything, yet I called them and they can not seem to get that.

I've been looking, trust me, although this place Sound Garden can get almost any CD... they even got me Rainbow so hey, I'm in luck.

Unimatrix Prime™ 5th September 2003 07:07 PM

hmm... I've checked nearly every music store I've gone to (places like Sam Goody, FYE, etc...), and I've yet to see any Ayu CD... :(... the closest thing they had to Japanese was some CD of ancient Japanese songs :rolleyes. I suppose if you live in places like NY or Boston, finding Ayu goods is much easier... with Konokuniya, Book-Off, etc. , going to big metro areas is your best bet ;) !

devilayu 5th September 2003 09:05 PM

Well, most CD sellers can get foreign CD's but it costs a lot to ship only a few units, so that's why they charge so much for them in the US.

I suggest you go to a used CD store, where ppl sell all kinds of music (Japanese, Chinese, you name it).

ayubra 6th September 2003 01:48 AM

I live in Brazil, and there's a CD store near my house that sells ayu CD's... It's great... :D :D :D they have lots of J-pop stuff....
I paid 110 reais (something like 35 US dollars) for my copy of A BALLADS, I recently bought Dearest, Forgiveness and & from them ... :D
When I found it I was sooooo surprised (in an great way) because I would never imagine that I would be able to get J-pop stuff in Brazil ... :D

miryoku 6th September 2003 07:16 AM

Is there anywhere in vancouver that sells jpop cds? i know that one japanese store on robson sells somethings. are they the real cds? ...i assume they arent japan version. and i didnt see any ayu cds in the virgin there... although it has a nice import section.

Delirium-Zer0 7th September 2003 08:25 AM

Here's what I've found near me so far:

Tower Records Online had a BUNCH. I bought "A" from there.

A store called WOW! in Las Vegas (which is a pairing of The Good Guys electronic store + Tower Records) had A Song for XX, A BEST, ayu trance, and ayu-ro mix 2. I got XX, trance, and ayu-ro 2. :P

Borders Books & Music in Thousand Oaks, CA had various jpop like Puffy and the Japan for Sale 2 compilation, but no ayu.

Mad Platter, a record store near here that caters to those who like underground stuff (and is my source for obscure Tori Amos stuff) has ordered me one of the Connected analogs, cuz they have someone who provides them but none were in stock. $30, but oh well, i'm getting it. :)

And then theres always Asahiya, Kinokuniya, and J-Wave (rental place) in Little Tokyo. Very reliable, I go there first. :P

i prefer internet shopping....its just like pizza delivery, u dun gotta go nowhere, but i'm not sure if yesasia has cheap prices compared
*never found any of her cds around cept online

appears 7th September 2003 02:49 PM

we have a store called "japanese centre" in london that stocks the most recent japanese releases but it costs almost double the price of all the cds, so i dont bother wasting my £££ there :(
