supercell is a production group that mainly revolves around a composer/lyricist named 'ryo' and utilizes the VOCALOID system, namely Miku Hatsune's voice to create the songs for the group. Illustrators that work with ryo are: 119, huke, Shirow Miwa, and redjuice. Recently, their first album titled "supercell" sold more than 100,000 copies and reached the #2 spot on the Oricon charts!

Their first major single, "kimi no shiranai monogatari" will be for an upcoming anime called Bakemonogatari with a famous female singer from nico nico douga in Hatsune Miku's place. Also known as Gazelle/nagi, she was quite famous on the web before retiring in mid-2008 and disappearing from the public eye for a few months.

I just listened to the 3 songs you posted in the first post.

The main singer's voice sounds really Perfume-ish, like the electro pop kinda voice.

But their music genre is kinda like pop rock (is it?)

The songs are ok, but it might grow on me if I listen a bit more times.

I like their bandname by the way, it sounds really futuristic. :)

The main singer is not a real person. It's a fake vocalist basically.

But the arrangements and background music are all 'real'. However, supercell is doing projects with a real singer named Gazelle who is AMAZING.

Oh, I thought the main singer was a real person, oops. xD

Hmmm, well it's not a Hatsune Miku thread but close enough I guess. XD Yay for this group! Been toying with the idea of purchasing the new single, not sure yet though. :P

I love supercell lol but only their works with an actual human voice.

Oh, they released a new track called Hero. It isn't that great though.

2nd album coming out March 16th! I think it'll be mainly nagi though.

13 songs total. Limited edition includes DVD, original designed case, original designed pick, and an full color illustration booklet.

Yay! I really don't like vocaloids so I'm happy it's mostly Nagi singing <3
