Someone is hacking my account

I just found out this lately on my E-mail notification about on my account here.
Someone just attempted to hack my account for 5 times.
Thankfully, it was blocked but I felt really bothered to this.

Any tips from preventing this kind of threat?
And can someone track where is this IP address from?

Spoiler:

203.244.221.3

Thanks

Someone tried getting into your AHS account? Weird. I wonder why they would pick THAT account to get into. People are strange...

Lanz16 6th November 2009 07:45 AM

^ yes, its really weird
At this moment I'll change my pw many times as much as possible :(

Crystal_Ageha 6th November 2009 08:03 AM

How odd, to attempt to hack into your AHS account, lol... I hate whenever people do stupid crap like that. >.< Do some people really have nothing better to do? Can't they at least try to hack into bank accounts, like normal criminals? XD

ownsarai 6th November 2009 10:03 AM

^LOL that's exactly what I was thinking.
It's probably some last.fm troll trying to get into members accounts to spam AHS and get you banned or something, which is ridiculous, but I wouldn't put it past them.

^I hate to say it, since I'm from North America, but I see a lot of artist hate going on here. Like, not just disliking an artist, but going as far as creating hate sites for them. I remember that there was an online petition to get Ashlee Simpson to stop singing. I don't like her either, but I'm not going to go that far...

waterballoon 7th November 2009 07:36 PM

^ lol the measures haters would go to... :no

anyway, whoa creepy... I don't think it's actually like smart to hack a fansite account LOL

O.O... i have no idea what you guys discuss regarding IP address. How do I know someone from other countries based on the ip addresS?

Crystal_Ageha 8th November 2009 09:47 PM

It's kinda difficult to explain, and I don't know everything about IP addresses, so this is the basics:
Your computer is given an IP address according to the area your Internet is being provided in. (And if you're using a laptop or other wireless device to connect to the Internet, it, of course, takes an IP address of the area you are currently in.) So using geolocating (I think that's what it's called, when you locate using IP address?), one can determine where you live from the numbers in your IP address. Because certain numbers relate to certain countries. By determining IP addresses, this is how a site can block a certain user, or even block an entire country. (You can, however, get around this by using proxy sites, but that's a different story.)
IP addresses are pretty much literally what it sounds like: an address for where you are currently using the Internet. Not only can they tell what country you are in, but sometimes they can tell what region of the country you are in, what your coordinates are for the globe, and what time it is where you are. (IP identifiers aren't always 100% correct, but they are extremely precise.)

About that IP address thing, whoever said that seemed to have just put it in Google and saw that the IP address was for a Korean IP.
