November 10th Kanagawa police arrested R&B singer Shion (26) for the possession and use of the narcotic ketamine. Shion gave a statement to the police saying, "I did use ketamine in my room." According to the investigation, Shion had used ketamine and was in possession of it at her home on November 9th. The police were searching her room in relation to a different case when a plastic bag containing 0.003 grams of ketamine was found under her pillow. The police also found a straw to which Shion admitted having used to snort the drug a week earlier. After taking a urine sample Shion tested positive. In May of 2008 Shion made her album debut with Candy Girl, which landed at #9 on Oricon album chart. Her most recent album Truth was released this past October, although she recently stopped activities due to a health issue. Shion is a popular singer among young women and had just been nominated for the Billboard Japan Music Awards 2009 in the Best Indies Artist category. http://community.livejournal.com/ara...nt/424356.html **** :( |
Poor girl. I hope after all of this she still has a career to go back to.
|
^ I doubt it. Especially what happened to Alex from ONE OK ROCK; he did practically nothing but had to leave the band and was dropped from his modeling agency. >>
Why are you pitying her though? I mean she did it to herself. If you're gonna do drugs though, you should be prepared to pay the price. x_x |
>> Wow I didnt know that stuff was still around...Im allergic to ketamine D:
Atleast she didn't lie about using the drug though, that gets you in even more trouble than admitting to it. |
Wow, I remember when her first album came out. I'm so surprised! D:
|
Well we can kiss her career goodbye...remember...That morning musume girl who smoked and got screwed by an old guy....never hear about her anymore
|
^ Yeah her official site is already down...

^^ Hahah, Ai Kago? Yeah, that screwed her up pretty badly, and this is even worse than that. D:
Hate to say it, but she probably brought it on herself, Shion... :no There is a chance we don't know the whole thing and there was some "reason," like Goto said, but more than likely that's not the case. Too bad. |
Ketamine is pretty strong stuff if abused...I mostly always hear it used as animal anesthetic by vets. Also kind of a random drug...wonder if she started using it because of her health problem...

Oh wow @_@ her career is gone baby .
|
Ah, so early in her career! I feel bad for her. Guess she just got caught up in the fame.
|
i never heard about her before........ anyone have her cds ? i d love to her songs.
thatsr eally sad for her ..... |
Well, that's how the industry works. It's kinda sad the obsession they've got to that "squeaky clean" image... it's one of the very few things that I dislike about the J-Pop industry. Specially when I don't feel is gratuite at all, it's always been a very, very, very dark and hard business in the backstage.
I understand there's a halt on her career for some time, but I wish she would be able to come back in some way, with time. Sadly, chances for that happening are close to none. |

I prefer that kind of treatement to the media hype received for misbehavior resulting from obious drug abuse and other things that makes a horrible role model in the west (the list is too long, britney, amy winehouse, robbie will etc). If you have pains, you go see a doctor and get a drug that is legal. It's no more complicated for someone in show biz than anyone else. If the pressure gets to high, you have to deal with it. If she couldn't get through without this kind of drug maybe showbiz isen't the place for her. |
I agree with *petit* the music industry in the West is far too lenient on drug-abusers. It's a good thing that Japan cracks down on this type of thing...
|
I think this is a case of "happy medium". On one hand drug abuse shouldn't be used media entertanment, but it also shouldn't totally destroy the person than it already has on its own. I think the main problem would be that the Japanese industry doesn't believe in "second chances" at all, really.
|
Is it really such a big problem to take drugs in japan? Something is seriously ****ed up...
|
^ Are you from the West, I suppose..? Or, the US? It's different in other parts of the world, specifically that part of Asia. They don't let drug abuse slide like some. :\ I personally think it's a good thing, that they're so strict.

At first when reading the title thread, I thought it was Tsuji Shion! :laugh
