f(x) was announced as a new girl group by SM on August 2009. On the name of the group, SM has stated: The 'x' in f(x) is a variable, and if it changes, the result will be different. The 'f' stands for 'flower', and the 'x' stands for the female chromosome 'xx'. And like a flower, they will blossom and become hot icons to represent Asia as the top "Asian Pop Dance Group.". One of the considered names for f(x) was WHITE ANGELS. The group has been mistakenly called as the "female SHINee" by some netizens, when that title was given (by SM) to another five-person girl group called CRYSTAL, which will debut soon.

Their debut song "LA chA TA" (a made-up word) was digitally released on August 31 2009. The members' first showcase was held on September 2 2009, and the MV was released on the same date. During the showcase, a song called "Mr. Boogie" (choreographed by Rino Nakasone) was performed. There are plans of expanding the group to other Asian countries.

They digitally released the song "Chocolate Love (Retro pop version)" on October, and the song was used to promote the LG Cyon Chocolate cellphone.

Chu~♡, f(x)'s debut physical single will be released on November 8th. The titled track "Chu~♡" was released digitally on November 4th, and the first performance was on "Music Bank"

That's Amber's role. She's playing the androgyny card, and fans seem to like it. =D

I'm hoping for a mini album soon with at least 6 songs...I liked La cha ta and chocolate love, haven't heard the chu single yet.

i LOVE lollipop!!!! and amber is absolutely gorgeous in the MV :luv2 not sure if i like it more than the YG version, but this is really really good!!! victoria has an amazing voice!

^ Yeah, even though SM seems to want to establish them as a dance group, but they all have great vocals ! Especially Luna <3 I wish they could do more songs that shows their vocal abilities, like You Are My Destiny ..

YAMD is singer only by Luna + Krystal I dont think they all sing that great - amber didnt sing at all

^ I know, Krystal and Luna are the best, but what I'm trying to say that I think they're all talented when it comes to singing, and that SM should make songs like this for all of them to sing, btw Amber sings only one line from all they're songs (Chu~), and I liked it D=

actually, i was the thread starter for f(x)
but it seems that the thread kind of dead..since nobody knows them..
i hope that more ppl in AHS put much interest on them from now on :)

amber is so handsome and pretty! it's too bad she's in f(x), they're holding her back! if only every single one of their songs weren't such huge flop failures! amber is sexy and cool, she deserves much better.
