how come i never see Ayu in MTV VMAJ nominee ? :thud,

She stopped going to award shows in... 2004, I believe? She doesn't participate in awards shows anymore.

I believe it's back to the INSPIRe era when she decided not to accept awards anymore. Her last performance in MTV was Moments if I'm not mistaken.

^ yup & she did that to give other artistes a chance to win if not she will always be the one winning the same award(s) that she's nominated in

I also think it has something to do with that feud which happened internally in avex over Max Matsuura & Tom Yoda too

I think the last time she performed at the VMAJ's was in 2004 with the song "Because of You". That was the last time she accepted awards (due to winning them all the time).

If Ayu participates then she pwns. She must already have a house made out of awards.

yeah...i think some of her PV in this past year (start from 2005 - 2010) deserve awards, but since she already stopped to receive any awards...so i don't think we will see her accepting awards anymore...

I believe she receives "awards" every so often when an album does pretty well, but other than that, she's stopped accepting awards for the most part.

A COMPLETE and A BEST 2 both got GOLD DISC awards, I believe.

I read once Inspire was going to be her 4th consecutive song of the year, but she stated she wasn't going to acept any more prizes before winning it

ayu is in this industry because of her passion for singing and not for the fame/awards. :)

yeah. it was after the dispute between avex and max that led to speculations that ayu will leave avex together with max. the issue ended of with both staying in avex and (not sure if its a consequence,) ayu refused to accept any awards. this happened in 2004.

Golden Disc awards is more sales related. So if the RIAA records you sell a certain amount, then you get an award. Similar to the Gold/Million status, and Oricon "awards"

BTW do they even have Golden Disc award shows anymore?? The last one I remember was Dearest/Daybreak and I think she sang Voyage...?

i hope someone can explain this,i mean why after that she dont want to receive any award? any relation with Avex and Max?

i've been wondering about this and want to make a new thread about this and looks like someone is faster than me :P so now it has been confirm that its Ayu herself who refuse to receive any award,she's such a down to earth person and no doubt "music is my life,my life is music" :love

but i'd be great if we can see Ayu participating again maybe just as the guest artist,i'd love to see her on the red carpet again :thud or did they ahve the award like "lifetime achievement award" or something like that to appreciate the artists after their contribution in the industry?

i actually really wish Ayu could show up on award shows, walking down the red carpets, don't have to win anything, but just to be the guest and performer..that will be great!
i wonder why she doesn't want to even sing in award shows.. hmm~

Awards are completely unimportant to a real artist, and I have a great deal of respect for Ayu removing herself from the award pool.
