She's cancelled twice in the past 3-4 years, and that's quite unacceptable for Japanese standards. It doesn't matter if you're sick or whatever, what they believe is that you have a duty to go to the music program and play. Playing on Music Station is kind of like an honour, so if you cancelled, it's not so good, for whatever reason. Another artist could have had their shot at performing. And I'm pretty sure, but I can't remember who, that there was an artist before who cancelled 2 or 3 times, and they were never seen on TV again because they couldn't be trusted.
THAT'S why the fans are upset, because they're afraid of this happening.

It's not like she is at a point of her popularity where a lot of people in Japan care about her existance...
