I think in this case, the 〜でいて in 恋でいて欲しい is used to represent an enduring state. Someone (in this case her 'love') is currently close to her and she wants (欲しい)this person that way forever (ずっとずっと). Nothing in her lyrics is in the past tense. She's asking if it's too selfish for her to want this person to stay with her, and love her, forever.
