Thanks for the update ~Linzangel~

This is the text of the original source:

Quote:
Popular Korean and Japanese artists will hold a large concert under the theme “To Our Asian Friends” in Jamsil, Seoul on Sept. 3 to benefit the victims of the recent deadly Asian tsunami, reported the Korea Foundation for Asian Culture Exchange on its website.

The foundation also said that artists from Hong Kong, Taiwan and other Asian countries will also join their Korean and Japanese colleagues to help the tsunami victims.

Shin Hyun-taek, the director of the foundation who went to Japan on June 20 to discuss the details of the concert, said in a telephone interview with Star News on June 21 that all proceeds from the concert will be donated to the tsunami victims, and that many top Korean and Japanese artists have agreed to perform at the concert.

Korean artists who are likely to perform include BoA and TVXQ, while Japanese guests will include top star Hamasaki Ayumi, who participated in the Asian Song Festival which was organized by the Korea Foundation for Asian Culture Exchange last year.

The organizers of the concert visited the Super Arena Stadium in Saitama, Japan on June 20, as that location will become the venue of another charity event to follow the Seoul concert. Shin will meet with representatives of Fuji TV and the satellite channel Sky Perfect TV on June 21 to discuss the planning of these two extravagant events.

He will return to Korea on June 22 after meeting with representatives of the Japanese record firm Columbia Records in order to finalize the list of Japanese artists who will perform at the events.

^ Why should she retire? Anyhow it's nice to see her still taking part in concerts of that sort =) at least it'll show those tabloids that she still does care for the victims of the tsunami.-

Thanks for the news! I think it's a great idea to raise money and that people are actually still thinking about helping them. And Ayu is a part of it! =)

Just because it was last December, doesn't mean that they don't still need help. They are going to need charity events like this for the next couple of years probabally.

I don't think Ayu will do any new songs unless she has written a new socially conscious one. She will probabally perform something like A Song is Born or another song along those lines.

There are still thousands of homeless people trying to find a place to live and some food. It happened months ago, but that doesn't mean that the effects on the people are gone. So no, it's definately not "too late".

My first thoughts mirrored PickleCookies's. I think it speaks a lot regarding the state of affairs.

Hmm I don't think it's that late to hold a charity concert. After 9/11 such charity events carried on for several months. I'm glad to hear Ayu is taking part in this~~ It'll hopefully calm down those tabloids that bash her for not donating 30 million yen or whatever to help out.
