^Yes, she was an R&B singer. I'm quite sure you may know a song, just don't know it's by her. Aaliyah died in an airplane crash after shooting a videoclip somewhere (I don't remember where exactly). It's said that the plane was too heavy and therefore crashed. Also the pilot was drunk and/or fairly new at piloting.

It's kinda sad that I began to get into her music shortly before she died.

I cried when I heard she had died and so tragically too. I love all of her songs but out of them all I loved Journey to the Past. It was beautifully written and sung. My friend and I would always make about stories Aaliyah and sometimes jokes (it's was in a good way) *sigh*...but I loved Aaliyah and I will always love her. T_T

wow i didnt realize this...i remember when it happened...I WAS IN THIRD GRADE! i knew who she was cuz i loved that song Try Again. no one cared at school...prolly cuz they were ignorant 9 year olds, while i was the musically-advanced one...
