That is the mystical being whom goes by the name Emilie Autumn.
Apparently she's a singer / songwriter, but who really knows.
She was born in Malibu, California so DAYUM, she totally didn't choose to go down the Barbie path in life!
She currently has 6 studio albums. Way to go Emilie!
I assume that her latest release is: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun /Bohemian Rhapsody EP but, one can never be too sure!

I like some of her songs but don't listen to her that often. Though that's happened before and then I suddenly get an urge to keep listening. It hasn't happed with her - yet. But she's alright.

My God the woman is AMAZING!

I've seen her twice now (both times in London), once in April ('08) and then again in October ('08) and I have to say both times left me in awe, you've never seen anything quite like it.

I believe you've forgotten some things she does....
such as:
Musician (she plays the Violin, Viola, Viola de Gamba - not that I know what that is -, Guitar, Piano & Harpsichord)
Poet
Writer

Plus she designs her own clothing as well.

well, tbh all of her songs sound very similar, so once you've heard, for instance, "Hollow Like My Soul" something like "Dead Is The New Alive" or "The Art Of Suicide" doesn't have as much of an impact. at least she uses that totally unique harpsichord very minimally, so there is a lot of variation in the instruments!

The woman's range is outstanding, and she uses it a lot better than most of the wailing screeching diva's we have in the mainstream world today, I'm talking your typical Mariah Carey, Leona Lewis and Christina Aguilera

And honestly.... you've heard, like, what? One live performance from her?

Although... none of you will ever have the full effect of her voice because... let's face it... none of you have seen her live

I'm not even going to into the ALI PROJECT comparison..... since they are barely similar (plus Emilie is several thousand times more talented... and this is coming from a fan of ALI PROJECT)

What If is no where near a rip-off of Tori Amos's song (yes I've heard it)

The lyrics are completely different.... did you only mention it because both songs say 'what if' in the chorus.
The tune is completely different as well. In fact the only thing they have in common there is the fact that there's a piano involved.
What If is a song full of irony.... the lyrics are genius and they make you think, her voice is stunning.
It is powerful, unique, interesting and completely unedited.




The simple fact is... is that the woman is talented... more talented than the majority of the music industry today.
Her vocals range to downright bizarre and extraordinarily beautiful. she can go from screaming at you in one moment and lulling you to sleep in the next.

What other artist can do that?


It seems to me that you people just don't want to like her and so you won't give her a chance.
Perhaps if you were a little more open-minded to her music......

I'll try and disregard the fact that you clearly know absolutely nothing about the technical aspects of music. That was made blatantly obvious when you said Emilie had a better range than Mariah, etc. Do you even know what an octave is? And don't answer that after you look it up on Wikipedia. Just know that Mariah can sing in about four more of them than Emilie.

I listened to Emilie's music. I previewed her entire Opheliac album on iTunes and watched multiple live performances on Youtube, but just didn't see what's great or even original about her. To me she sounds like every other Hot Topic, Nightwish-wannabe out there. You have to accept that not everyone is going to love her, and that they aren't close-minded simply because they don't enjoy her music or see her talent.
