What do you think about Ayu 's changes ?

Agree with all of you. After many time watching ABL, I realized that I hate evolution part ! Was she screaming in that part ? I think the medley in HLS 2012 was better than ABL's one !
Heaven in this live is perfect and emotional but her voice is so rough.
I love her voice now, she can sing her new songs excellently but weak were the old songs !
Do you think that her vocal in Wake Up is better than ABL's one !?

I don't think it's her voice so much that affected how I feel, but... the way she sings it. In the old concerts, 2001, 2002, 2000... she has a slurry method of singing songs, while from say around 2007 onwards she sings in a staccato method, meaning she emphasizes every word strongly and it comes across as jarring especially on songs like HEAVEN @ ABL.

I miss the most, however, were the lyrics. ASFxx to I am... have the best lyrics IMO, because they were filled with self-doubt and questions yet with a very young hope that everything is gonna be okay. From around Secret or so, I feel the standard has dropped... and we're kinda in a slump IMO

Is not her voice that I care about, is her way of doing things for publicity.
I don't listen to her as often as I did before.

Ah, I noticed that so many times, but I think it's because she's an adult now! And I'm glad she's a lot more selfconfident now, even if that phase gave amazing lyrics, lol. I remember she said it she was ten times more serious about life back then.

She DID go back to her old style of lyrics on "Party Queen," getting really personal and serious and facing doubts and everything... and everyone hated that album so. Yeah. x_X I worry we're teaching her to stay in her bad habits lyrically...

I have to say yes to this. Even though evolution was performed probably hundreds of time and we all know how it goes like, but I really enjoy watching them on DVD. HLS's medley and surreal ~ evolution ~ surreal was pretty enjoyable, and it made me smile. This year was okay, nothing special, nothing amazing in particular about the medley or her encore.

I actually love Party Queen it wasn't a bad album at all, just because the cover and PVs were all trashy, but the songs were good (except for the weird jazz songs, I just find those really weird).

Today, I listened to Koda Kumi's new song _ Dreaming now. I wonder why Koda Kumi and Namie Amuro debuted before ayu but their voice didn't change ?

Listening to her voice live now makes me cringe and feel sad half the time BUT she really is improving. Her recordings are catching up to that unfortunately, but she has made music that suit it now like BRILLANTE that she wouldn't have been able to pull of before and some older songs like A song for xx sound better now. So I have mixed feelings.

I think her voice live is changed, I agree with this opinion . However, she can sing some song s(ASFXX, love song,...) excellently with the mature voice! Otherwise, some of them may be unsuitable for her current voice !
The question "Does she sing in the concert well ?", we cant have the answer because we do not attend her concert.So We cant say "Her live voice is bad !".
In the ABL CD version, auto-tuning or not ; Singing or lip syncing is unsure. We cant say that "her voice is so good and clear , she might lip synced". I think, the attended fans may realize the truth.
In this forum, some people believed that poker face and fly high in ABL is lip syncing ! But I don't think so !

Namie's voice has definitely changed; and Kuu debuted AFTER Ayu and her vocals have changed as well. If you listen to their debut songs to their most recent stuff, the changes are definitely there. Ayu's is only the most noticieble because she started out squeaky but transformed into powerful.

I like her vocal in 2010 the best! The music then is some of my favorite as well.
