A question about Liar's lyrics.
Okay, according to masa's translation, the bridge of Liar means
"The more you love me, the more my heart aches I don't love ... any more" But in the MY STORY album that I bought with Chinese translation, the bridge (translated to English by me) means "The more you love me, the more it makes my heart ache Really, about you, I am already..." The first line is the same, but the 2nd line is really different... any help on this? If anyone needs the romaji, here they are: "kimi ni ai sareru hodo mune ga kurushii no nee watashi wa kimi no koto wo mou..." And for the kanji: 「君に愛される程 胸が苦しいの ねぇ私わ君の事をもう...」

Okay, If you mind what I think maybe I can explain
So we have 君に愛される程 胸が苦しいの ねぇ私わ 君の事をもう... 君 - you 愛 - love される - for する is only used for constructing the passive (される) and causative (させる) verb forms. 程 - ほど - extent This particle is not so hard to use, but it has a particular pattern of use that sometimes confuses people new to it. For this reason, it's probably easiest to say that 程 ほど stands for 'extent' of actions, consequences, or even of properties. 胸 - chest 苦しい - hard, painfull ねぇ - Hey 私 - me わ - sa/yo/wa = the same in diferent levels So 私わ it's a great possibility for girl to say that she broke up with her boyfriend because of her guilty 君の事 - person+koto - something about his mind, behavior, or etc. を - direct objecter もう - 'again', or also 'other', bot very reliable but google translates it as other so my translation will be "being loved by you, my chest hurts I don't [love]... you anymore" PS well I'm not fluent in japanese but only studying it, so just tried to translate, I have some experience in translating songs. Hope my version helped you and is right^^ Last edited by Ayumi_lover; 2nd May 2009 at 08:24 AM. |

"I don't love ... any more" is not an exact translation of 「ねぇ私わ君の事をもう...」 A more accurate translation would be "I don't ... you anymore" with the ellipses probably representing a transitive verb. Japanese word order, normally S-O-V, is different from English's S-V-O order, so a word-for-word translation ("I don't ... you anymore") sounds kind of awkward, so Masa was probably trying to make the translation sound as natural as possible.

Well... I actually think the last line is like "I don't love you anymore",she just left out the "love" so it's like "I don't...you anymore".So I think the masa's translation is alright.
Oh,and Ayumi_Lover,it's not ai sareru,it's aisareru.Which means to be loved. So I don't think there's any kind of stabbing going on in here ![]() Last edited by Chiharo; 1st May 2009 at 06:30 PM. |
