That's the thing. She doesn't compose and arranged all of the songs since 2005 besides co-composing Will.
And for Sunrise she even used a new fresh composer.
Though probably your problem with most of the songs are the arrangements.
I guess you are not into some of the arrangers she uses but I don't think a break would help it.
Even in fast release pace she can change composers and arrangers (and make harder rock or MY STORY-ish music). Though I myself have no problem with CMJK I love his style very much and the whole NEXT LEVEL direction I'm so into those new shticks (and Sunrise is totally kicking all of ayu's summer songs asses besides July 1st (for now) for me).

Ah yes but if you write lyrics which actually have a deep and good meaning behind them, then the music shapes itself around them. Like imagine M but done NEXT LEVEL style - It couldnt be done or it would sound like a mess and wouldnt be a popular song like it is at the moment. I cant help being biased against stuff I dont like. Its human nature.

I noticed a lot of the times the negative comments are mostly from the same users here...so I usually ignore what they post...unless they have good reasons to why they made the comments.

I don't understand why some people just like.. want to be, or pretend to be, oblivious to the fact that Ayu won't always put out amazing things that everyone will like? She's like any other artist... some stuff she does will appeal to one group but not another. But I guess that's just something that's liked to be "ignored"

I didn't like the direction she took with NEXT LEVEL (though I did love the singles on it) and it seems like she's continuing on from that style which isn't really my cup of tea. The preview of Sunrise sounds okay but nothing amazing, but then again, I'm not really a fan of happy-go-lucky cutesy songs. I'm really hoping Sunset will be an awesome ballad though

I think its more like, it seems that there are some people who just complain all the time that the quality or whatever has decreased as time has passed by and all her new stuff sucks yet they still frequent this forum (note, I'm not referring to you), so when someone else gives a not-so-positive critique, like what you just did (which you have every right to) it doesn't go down well.

Yeahh I know. I mean if I hated what she was doing I wouldnt buy her stuff. Well alright ive not ordered NEXT LEVEL or this new single but thats due to money and quality issues. It just comes across as sharp when certain people just have a go at people for having opinions.

yes that is exactly how I feel. There's a difference between people that just complains and diss about everything and fans that just don't like something but gives good reasons as to why they don't like it. Ayu can't please everyone and its perfectly fine not to like some stuff ayu does.

the newer previews are a bit better but i don't like the chorus at all. seeing the pv for sunrise will probably help that out a lot, a pv makes a lot of songs more enjoyable for me.

i haven't been able to find the sunset preview yet though.

I can't believe the thread went into the direction of "PEOPLE ARE SO PICKY ABOUT AYU STFU SHE'S AWESOME"

Because one, ONE person was having a conversation with truehappiness....where they understood each other and everything...And then KODA got dragged into it. And ew.


@juicy: I don't really like the chorus either, but that's just because I'm not really a pop/rock person...although I think it could have been really awesome with a better composition, I think it takes the song in a direction that Ayu likes, so, I'm not really gonna say much about it other than that.

I LIKE IT! It's bursting with energy... omg... And I swear I heard the chorus somewhere lol... at least it's catchy. The verses are very quirky... and the verse and chorus have very different arrangements... cool. And the electro-pop sound continues from NEXT LEVEL... I like.

The only part I don't feel yet is the last 2 lines of the chorus... omg but this is still great!
