To be honest, I can barely hear a difference with the different romanization(different pronounciation) and I speak Chinese, but the main difference is the tones of each charater. the yi in her stage name has a 1 tone which stays in the same pitch, while the yi in her birth name has a 2 tone which sounds like it rises when said.
