Some ended up with similar titles to actual songs, like Missing, On My Way and Summer Diary, but there are some of these that I look back at and think "wtf"

I remember making a fake tracklist before (miss)understood released. I named it "Misunderstanding" and put it exactly as the 5th track. And then (miss)understood came out and is exactly the 5th track of the album. My sis said I had some sort of connection with ayu LOL

Siliconera in an article about Fire Emblem x Shin Megami Tensei video game collaboration said : Meanwhile, Avex Group are going to handle the music production. They’re known for having produced many of Japan’s famous pop singers such as Ayumi Hamasaki, so it seems like they’ll be a good fit for the game, considering the focus on the entertainment business, and voice actors and actresses singing their characters’ songs.

That would be really cool if she collabed for Fire Emblem!! I love that series!

Anyway, why is everyone around here so anti Daishi Dance? He has proven to make great music, just listen to his work with Miliyah Kato (I miss you, Nemurenu Yoru no Sei de, With U, Emotion). Miliyah worked with him like how Ayu worked with DAI. I think what they could do together would be amazing.

Did DAISHI DANCE really make all those songs?? I knew about I miss you and on re-listen, Nemurenu Yoru no Sei de and With U definitely sound like his products, but Emotion doesn't really sound much like DD (like, where's the piano??). If he did do Emotion, good for him, I love that song!

Anyway, I'm also disheartened about the general attitude towards him. I get that not everyone will like his style (and he has a very distinct style, all the more helpful in alienating people), but calling him a talentless one-trick pony is a bit too much. Many people seem to like Sayonara though, so maybe that song will change some attitudes (I wish I could be enthusiastic too, but I haven't liked his move to a more EDM direction too much, I prefer his traditional house style).



Another topic: can we discuss (again) how amazing NO FUTURE is? I've been listening to it almost every single day since A ONE came out, and I'm impressed every time. Never has her voice slayed me to this extent in a studio recording, she really gets to go OFF in this song! So much power, so much emotion, such a great melody and amazing song. (Also, I know the dated 90s-synth arrangement bothers some people, but isn't it sort of thematically appropriate for a song called NO FUTURE? At least that's how it struck me.)

I love NO FUTURE! It's my favorite song on A ONE and I have been listening to it on repeat constantly when the album was released.

I'm probably the biggest DAISHI stan here. Apparently it's because his music is too "same-y" lol but for me, I love piano + string + house arrangements so his music is my cup of tea. But the reaction to Sayonara has been pretty good so I guess he's doing it right this time for non-DAISI fans.

Probably cause his arrangements are same-y. Same reason why people aren't keen on Yuta Nakano for ballads.

But if she actually worked with him like Miliyah did, and what Ayu (CREA) did with DAI, I think the result would be pretty great.

Actually, I think if she just worked with tasuku as an arranger more it would be liven up her music (the music in Out of control is gorgeous!). But Nakano proved he still has some spark with NO FUTURE.

They name drop Ayu in that siliconera article, but the soundtrack for SMTxFE is done... If she were on there anywhere we'd probably know it. I'd love if they brought her on for a track but that seems highly unlikely at this point.

They probably looked for whoever represented avex the most in an article and it was Ayu. I do not think they mentioned her because she might be involved. I'd guess most of the people who did music for this were seiyuu (a lot of the characters in that game are idols and have songs of their own, one of which was in a trailer called "Reincarnation") and possibly avex composers had some involvement but that's about as close to Ayu as this would get. Most of the tracks seem to be typical idol fare, anyway.

Ayu's latest set of 3 songs is probably for an upcoming single or perhaps another mini for winter?

Yuta does great with upbeat stuff IMO but he has a very specific way of doing ballads/midtempo tracks that doesn't really offer anything special. The songs are nice but they lack something unique in their arrangements that makes them stand out as much as they could. I don't know if the DAI comparison is as good as the Yuta one since Yuta composes/arranges many of her songs while DAI never really arranged tracks which is the issue with Yuta and DAISHI for people.

The soundtrack is mostly being done by the same guy who did the Love Live music, which is all really fantastic. I'm actually really anxious to hear the full OST once it's out.
