I don't know if Ayu is getting direct royalties from the book, but she must be involved. She's always been in control of her career. Her perfectly timed Instagram post that came out as the book did is more than suspicious too. She's involved. I'd bet my left eye she approved it at the very least.

Ayu has spent her life at the center of attention. No one could be unaffected by having so much attention, good and bad, showered on them all the time. If I were in her shoes, I wouldn't know how to function without it. If this book brings her attention, and with it the rewards of that attention, I doubt she'd turn it down.

I'm speculating, obviously. But I think this is what she wanted, and I'm happy for her that she's getting it.
