In my interpretation, in her mind, expressing herself is difficult. Her head is swirling with complicated thoughts and reasons and concerns of what other people think, but when she strips away all of that, she is left with a clear, direct word which expresses what she truly wants. Which is "no" (I don't want that; that's not what I'm saying, etc)

I think it's love, because in arena tour 2002, when she finishes I am... by saying "I've always been looking for just one word", she turns around a while after and on her outfit there is the japanese sign for "love"
