i dont get sick of any of her themes, considering the fact that how many times has she sang about freedom, love, lost love, respect, etc. i love this song, like the PV and overall, so far, love the single! Im really anxious for a ballad though, and, i cant believe im saying this, a rock song. maybe that will be her next single

To all the people who dislike "Beautiful Fighters"

First of all, this is the first time (and probably the last) that I've started a thread like this. I've considered posting in one of the opinion threads. The reason that I didn't is that I feel that a lot of people are missing out on what I think is a wonderful song which is unfortunately misunderstood. I'm not bashing anyone, or irrationally forcing my opinions on you. I'm just making a suggestion that may change your opinion of the song, or at least not find it as irritating. This suggestion is only for those people who listened to the song for the first time while watching the PV.

My suggestion? Forget about the PV.

I'm saying this because I listened to the mp3 first, and while I don't hate the PV, I think the PV made the song sound far more sugar-y and pop than it should have. Just listen to the song without the presumption that it's sugar-pop. Before watching the PV, my take on the song was that it was a soft rock song to begin with, with quite a bit of synthesiser sounds thrown in, making it pop-rock. For me, it sounded like "STEP you" with more of a rock tinge. After the PV, it may just sound like sugar overload, the rock tinge disregarded.

Music is of course an subjective thing, and unless you change your mindset the song will always sound the same. And I know that there are some strongly-opinionated people in this forum. It's more than likely that after my suggestion that everyone still feel the same about the song, but a suggestion can't hurt, can it? (Actually, it can only hurt me, making me look like an idiot for trying to change people's opinions with something so abstract.)

Since we're all Ayu fans, our music tastes must be pretty close. Try it, you may even begin to love the song.

Interesting. Well, I liked the song from the beginning so this isn't really aimed at me, but you made quite a nice review of the song.

Are you feeling an urge to make everyone love it? .

I haven't listened to it very much yet, I'm waiting for the single, but from what I remember I think that STEP you is much rockier than BF.

I only watched through the video once and thought it sounded cute. I mean, I don't mind her pop-y songs at all. This didn't seem to me to be one of the greatest, but I find the melody is stuck in my head even now already.

Yeah, I totally agree. There is just something about her songs that makes them so catchy and they get stuck in my head...even if I don't really like them that much. She's very good at making memorable songs.

What's wrong with liking Ayu's sugary pop songs anyway? Ayu's have a lot of style compared to other artists sugar-pop songs (kuu's Birthday Eve... Otsuka Ai's biidama). Plus BF does have that rock feel too it as you mentioned.

I like people like you who (like me) want everyone to just love her work for what it is and not the fact it's not another alterna

i watched the pv first and absolutely love it !
i also listen to the song on my ipod many times a day, and it still sounds the same
its hard not to be poppy with the electronic voice of ayu and the chorus is very joyful (makes me smile and feel happy all the time)

I DID listen to the song 1st before seeing the PV and it turns out that I like the PV slightly better than the song. Both are not that great though.

And BF is more rock than Step YOU? Huh?

I listened to the song first, because I watched it first on YouTube, I had to let the video load first so I continued viewing forums whilst the video was loading, so I could hear the song as it loaded. It was just really irritating that first time, and having to listen to it again while I watched it was almost torture really, because I wanted to see the whole PV played with the song. I just hate it, and I really don't want to hear it again.
People just have different tastes, and not every fan is going to like it, so you should just enjoy listening to it if you like it and not be so concerned about trying to get everyone to feel the same way. I find it strange that people who like something always try to get someone who doesn't like it to change their minds about it. I don't remember any of the people who don't like something saying things like 'listen to it again and I swear you'll hate it too'. Not everyone has the same views about something, and sometimes it's better to just respect that and not become so worried just because someone doesn't like something that you like. If you like it, enjoy it and stop worrying about other people

Amen! I love the song and the PV and you do not like either and there is nothing wrong with that! We both are mature enough to respect each others opinions and not force each other in either direction of like or dislike! I hope that makes sense.

so very true but if they want to try to suggest them to look at the song a different way then I dont see a problem with that I dont think she meant to force her opinion on people

I liked the song

the pv is cute I wish she did more in it and I wish they had better cars

The Pv was just too repetative....it was like the same thing over and over...The song is okay, its nice...it's just Ayu doin her thing. some people like it some dont, but from this forum, i think there are more people who like it then those who dont.

the songs only been out for a while...let people get used to it. Maybe they'll like it. It shouldn't matter though...what Hanabi chick said shes right^^.

Yes, that's right I prefer reading different opinions on something, because it's more interesting, and it means that this is a good place where you can express your opinion on something freely. One forum I used to post at, it's not a good place to post at now unless you really really like something - any other opinion is just not welcome there. The only 'honest' opinions allowed are positive ones, nothing else. You can't give a constructive criticism on anything without being attacked. It all happened because the owners wanted to stop some really negative stuff, and tried to make the place very positive, but now it's out of control and a lot of people, including me, don't feel comfortable even giving a good reason for not liking something. I prefer places like AHS, where everyone can give their opinion.

But here, some overly obsessed fans tend to make rebuttals too when people don't like certain songs .

I see what you mean HanabiChick, it's horrible when a community breaks down like that.

I think people here are quite good at handling those fans, though .

Those are usually only a few people - there are probably some of those in most fan communities anyway, but at least AHS isn't a place full of fanbrats who have become so obsessive over the artist that they loose so much perspective on everything. What's scary about that other forum is that even certain higher-up staff have turned from being mature people who are over 20, some even over 30 with families, becoming rabid fanbrats and still thinking that they're more mature than some fans. Compared to that kind of thing, AHS is a lot nicer place to come to.

Suggesting to someone that they should change their mind about something means to me that you don't respect their opinion. The person suggesting it might not think of it that way, they may only want to help, but that's basically what it is. My point is that if someone doesn't try to get you to change your opinion, then you shouldn't try to change theirs. Just read what they say and forget about it if it's not how you feel about it. It sounds silly if you say to someone 'try forgetting about the PV and listen to the song, I swear you'll hate it' - if you switch that around then it's just as silly. That's what my point is. It's just better to focus on what you like than worrying about every single person who doesn't like it - it's just a waste of energy and time. It's really not worth it, especially in this case where a lot more people like it and only a few people dislike it
