一言に2タイトルのベスト盤と言っても、これがいかにすごいことかはわかりにくい。確かに昨今はコンピレー ションアルバムが増加しており、ベストアルバムをリリースするアーティストも少なくない。同時に2枚組のベ ストを発表できるのは、“ヒット曲を数多く持っている”あるいは“長い間第一線で活躍している”アーティス トのみがなし得ることである。今回の浜崎の2枚のベストには、もちろんヒット曲が数多く含まれているし、こ の6年間J-POPシーンのど真ん中を走り続けてきた彼女だからこそリリースができたわけだ。だが、このアルバムの最大 の特徴はそこではない。“WHITE”と“BLACK”。この 2枚にはそんな“色分け”がなされている。単なる色分けでないことは、アルバムを聴けば一目瞭然。曲調や歌 詞の内容からイメージする“色彩の濃度”で編み分けされ、まとめられたものだ。「ヒット曲を集めました」で はなく、「こういう意図でこのアルバムをまとめました」という制作者のポリシーが伝わってくるプロジェクト ──それを可能にしたのは、ほかならぬ浜崎自身が描く歌詞──“生きた言葉”の数々があればこそ である。

　それほど、1曲1曲に彼女が込めた言葉の数々は重要であり、浜崎の音楽の中心を形成していると言っても過 言ではない。事実、アンケート結果でも “浜崎あゆみの好きなところ”という質問に対して“歌詞”という答えが圧倒的に多かった。「ストレートで心 に響く歌詞が好き。メッセージソングで背中を押してくれるし、ラブソングでは素直な気持ちを歌っている」（ 愛知県・10代女性）「紡ぎ出される言葉＝歌詞が好き！悲しくてワンワン泣いていたのに歌詞に感動してもっ と泣いてしまった」（愛知県・20代女性）「彼女にしか書けない世界観が好き」（高知県・30代男性）など 、他の誰とも違う彼女ならではの “個性”を投影させた歌詞が、浜崎あゆみの軌跡の原動力となってきたことは間違いのないところだ 。

では、今回のベストアルバムにおいて、具体的にどんな曲にリスナーは心を揺さぶられているのだろうか。“W HITE”と“BLACK”、それぞれの収録曲で一番好きな曲として選ばれたのは、“WHITE”からは「 Voyage」、“BLACK”からは「HEAVEN」だった。「とにかく壮大で、聴いていて気持ちがいい 」（宮城県・10代男性／Voyage）「きれいなメロディーがすごく好き。歌詞も切なくていい」（大阪府 ・20代女性／Voyage）「この曲を聴いて感動し、あゆのファンになった」（埼玉県・10代男性／HE AVEN）。もちろん、この曲ばかりではなく、収録曲それぞれに様々な支持があり、メッセージが寄せられた 。「辛さや苦労など現実を強く歌っている曲だと思うと、勇気づけられる」（群馬県・10代女性／evolu tion）「女の子の恋心をそのままストレートに伝えてくれ、共感できる」（神奈川県・10代女性／STE P you）「メロディーはもちろん、歌詞が美しく、あゆらしい表現だと思う」（富山県・10代女性／Mome nts）「愛する人への思いがすごく伝わってきて好き」（山形県・30代男性／Dearest）「伝えられ ないもどかしさが、片想いソングの決定版」（沖縄県・20代男性／No way to say）。

　人の数だけ人生があり、その人生の数だけ心に残る歌がある。浜崎の歌が1人ひとりの人生に溶け込み、いつ でもその瞬間瞬間を照らしだせるのは、その“言葉”に普遍性があるからだろう。等身大の言葉で描かれた歌、 その最上級30編を並べた究極のベスト。それぞれが確かな息遣いを持つ“温かみ”のあるアルバムだ。(文： 田井裕規)

I am also surprised by Voyage, maybe they liked the drama My Little Chef or the clip.

HANABI had a deeply meaningful lyric, and Voyage is one of my favourite too.
