Well, I'm so happy for her, even though she didn't get the most prestigous category of the night, which is the Artist of the Year. She didn't sell so much records recently so she didn't get the award. But I'm so happy for her.
The Artist of the Year award goes to Koda Kumi again I think. 2 consecutive years. She sold many records last year, so she deserve it. Come to think of it, The Japan Gold Disc Awards is very similar to the USA's Billboard Music Awards. Both ceremony share the same root, all the winners are chosen based on the performance on the Billboard for USA, and Oricon for Japan, sales record and popularity too. Who sell the most records wins. Well, It doesn't matter anymore. Ayu had won the Artist of the Year 3 times during back then. But still, I'm so happy for her. CHAS AYU, I wonder what was the another award she receive?, because I think she just won an award with two of her 2006 albums.
