Shows with ayu and tomoya together
Ive been thinking about music station and how we talked about oh utada and ayu will be on and stuff a while back and that reminds me ayu and tomoya appeared on the same music station before too. I could think of 3 episodes they were on together...( STEP you, pride, and the other one where tomoya was wearing some kind of japanese costume I think)
Anymore? I know they attend on the same big shows and stuff but they show up seperately to perform. |

They usually don't acknowledge one another..
Probably to be strictly professional. Unlike American celebs.. "touch touch makeout" :|

They're pretty low key about their relationship, it wouldn't be suprising if they ignored one another on the shows.

I noticed from the last spring music station special when they showed a clip of tokio debut single performance...ayu wasnt there (I guess she went off to change) and the the next music station special tokio will be there but ayu will be in HK.

Actually in Japan it is considered to be a negative thing if a (especially female) star is in a relationship, which is why AVEX opposed the relationship initially, and why it was kept a secret for so long. In Japan the general marketing idea is that a star should be within the reach of the average person, and that the fantasy is more important than the reality. It's not really being professional as such, it's just following cultural norms in the entertainment industry.

It's definately not typical of most western stars, though.

don't forget, Tomoya is under Johnny's Entertainment. the last thing you want to do is anger a JE fangirl. when rumors & paparrazi pics of a couple appear, the whole fanbase goes in an uproar. haha! (though TOKIO's fanbase isn't as bad as NEWS / KAT-TUN).
i think they were at one episode at Music Station where Ayu was promoting "BLUE BIRD" & TOKIO with "Get Your Dream".

If they talk to each other on the show it'll be super weird. I rather they ignore each other to avoid any awkwardness. The hosts are smart enough not to put them in the same convo too.

I'm not saying they should be all over eachother and such, but just a little smile once in a while, or anything else that gives us proof they're actually together ><
I've honestly never seen any footgae of these two together, and by what your telling me it pretty much gives me the impression there isn't a relationship to start with...

I think a big part having to do with them ignoring eachother on screen is the fact that Tomoya is a Johnnys, as ||moments|| stated. The fact of a Johnny's having a girl is like the end of the world.

I think TOKIO is quite different from other Johnnys groups, so it may not be such a big problem.

That's true, but I still see lots of fan girls hating on Ayumi because Tomoya is with her.

i'm sure that they're ignoring each other just because they're there for their own affairs (wow... wasn't that an awkward sentence... they're there... affairs? XD) unless they were invited as a couple would i think they should do something. like in america most celebrity couples are invited together on a show and so they are to act like a couple. it's rarely the case but if they were invited on the same show separately they aren't gonna be like "oh hey! you're my boyfriend!" and get all intimate. they've got their own business...
and doesn't music station have those tv's at the bottom so the other stars can watch the show too? most of the time the artists behind them never really look at the person being interviewed in the first place. i'm sure Tomoya was just admiring his girlfriend from afar... in the tube xD |

I don't see why they need to smile at each other on a TV show. That's pretty sickening if I'm a Japanese viewer. I mean, this is Japan. Even American artistes don't throw smiles at each other if they are couple on the same show, unless they are married or something.
