Mandy Moore - Wild Hope

As you can see by my current set, I am a huge Mandy Moore fan. Her newest album leaked recently, and knowing myself, and how temptetion is hard for me, I downloaded. But trust me, after hearing it, I fully intend to buy it.

I'll admit it's not the taste of Pop we're used to from our favorite runner-up. But i'll also admit it's better than anything she's ever done musically, and it smells of originality and passion. Most of the songs being penned by Moore herself.

Album release June 19th in the US.

OMG IT'S LEAKED ALREADY?!?! People better buy this amazing album she's worked so hard on!

I am so glad someone made a thread for her new album! I am a huge Mandy Moore fan and I absolutely cannot wait for this collection of work. The first single "Extraordinary" has already promised me that the entire album is gorgeous! I really can't wait till June! I wish it was still coming out in May but it'll be worth the way. These next few weeks are going to be really great in terms of music for me!

I'm really looking forward to "Gardenia" and all the tracks really. Can't wait till June 19th!

^ I'll tell you this much. My absolute favorites are Wild Hope, Extraordinary, Gardenia, Slummin In Paradise, and Nothing That You Are. This album is really good. Although it's not a dancey pop treat, it's a suttle, beautiful, soothing walk to remember kinda album.

Oh don't get me started on that movie. I don't think I've ever cried as much in my entire life as I have during AWTR. Only Hope and Cry were both beautifully fitting songs to that film. I just hope this album will be entertaining. "Beautiful" is nice, but not boring beautiful. I have her album "Mandy Moore" and that was pretty good.

Well, then I wouldn't get horridly excited. The albums musical styling is more akin to her "Coverage" album, only they are original songs, and not remakes.

I used to hate her music before. Her first album is crap, her only good songs were the Cry and Only Hope.. Coverage was good, it shows she really has talent and all. And of course I downloaded Wild Hope and had a great surprise <3 Thank God she changed her style.

I am a bit dissapointed (don't kill me). I saw her perform Extraordinary on TV and I couldn't believe that was her singing. I had to take a quadruple take because her vocals have matured and changed so much. This album just isn't my style and I really love Mandy Moore and her singing in AWTR so I was hoping for even more similiar songs. She sounds way too much older in this album. It also reminds me of Norah Jones type of music and I hate her stuff.

Well Artists sometimes change, and their fans don't. It's not always a bad thing, everyone has their own preferences and styles. Mandy Moore had been doing what she was told to do musically for so many years, but this album is Mandy's True style, and it's ok if some people don't go along for the ride. But I'm sure even the fans that decide to part ways will respect her for making such a hard decision regarding her musical career. She's finally doing what she wants, and she's in control.

Be careful guys! If you used to like Mandy with her older style, this new one might not please you. It's completely different, and for me, far better =D she's even a little 'indie' now oO

About "Extraordinary"

According to Moore, when the song was released on the radio, it was given a positive response to listeners. "Extraordinary"'s current iTunes rating is 3.5. Reviews to the song have been mixed. Billboard said "Moore's once-girlish vocals now project a richer, more purposeful texture, well-suited to the autobiographical theme..." 1, where as other reviews have not been as positive due to Moore's apparent new, more mature, direction and sound. Moore's latter music has always pleased critics but was not always received well. The single debuted #2 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles Chart. This is Moore's higest debut and highest single since her 2000 single "I Wanna Be With You". It has since debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart at #74.

Mandy's song Extraordinary has entrered the Billboard Pop 100 at 74, , is curerntly 40 inthe Adult Top 40, hopefully she can at least crack the top 50.
