ayu and WWII?
I was just wondering, around the time of (miss)understood did ayu have some kind of obsession with World War II? I'm just asking cuz in the 2 album PVs rainy day and Ladies Night, it points that way.
rainy day is set in Germany during the war and in Ladies Night ayu acts like a female Hitler. Anyone have any ideas?

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you, but I was almost positive that she was dressed as Stalin in Ladies Night, not Hitler. O_o I could be wrong though; I'd have to ask my boyfriend who's a history teacher. Though if memory serves me right, I think it's Stalin. So maybe Rainy Day is WWI, too? I haven't watched it for a while... .>_<

I just looked up pictures of both Stalin and Hitler, and she does look more like Stalin. But could it be Benito Mussolini? But Stalin and Mussolini kind of look the same... no?

Isn't that the same military uniform she wore in CDL 2004-2005. I was there, and I remember when I saw the Ladies Night video, it was the first thing I thought of. I think that scene in the video looks like it was meant to be a concert video that was not used or something.

And... rainy day was supposed to be set in Germany? How do you know it was during a war? o__o |

LOL. Maybe it is Mussolini. XD I have no idea. All I know is that she had a long trenchcoatish uniform like Stalin so... *shrug* I dunno. Whatever. She's cute no matter what.

Also, I always thought the outfit made her look more like a soviet military commander than hitlerish. |

I dont think she's supposed to be any specific leader, but just portray a female dictator or millitary person

The connection between rainy day and Ladies Night PVs is definitly interesting, but I think there isn't really a connection between the two. I mean, Ladies Night is... well, let's admit it, random.
But I have to admit that the first thing that came to my mind when watching Ladies Night was that she was poking fun at Hitler. Maybe they just decided to do something military and it ended up looking like Stalin or Hitler even though it wasn't their intention?

I know it's the same outfit as the intro to CDL04-05 but I just thought it was somehow, I dunno, connected to rainy day or something. I know what I mean but I can't put it into words X_X

My first thought about Ladies Night was Russian Communism, esp that red cloth behind Ayu with herself on it, originally with hammer and sickle. For me it was much like it. I also think Ayu doesn't realize the meaning of it for some people (even I remember my mom buying bread or milk for special cards, no more than one per day, even though I was four year old kid then) ...or maybe I just don't get the meaning of this scene in the whole video and it's not what it looks like to me. Probably not her intention.

I don't think ayu is THAT dumb. She probably just portrayed whatever it was for a reason, maybe just to be cool, 'cause it really was damn cool. You should already know she likes taking charge so it's pretty easy to see why positions of power and influence would be second nature to her image.

It's not about being dumb. History presents facts and its importance for some people but not for each person in the world. For you it's cool thing, for Ayu it's cool thing, for many people here it's a cool thing, for me it's unpleasant memory, I only talk about my personal thoughts, how can she know them?
Ayu just took the general picture so I don't get angry with her or sth like that, but it doesn't mean I cannot present my point of view and give some additional meaning to the whole scenery.

Or probably its a mixture of all 3 Stalin, Hitler and Mussolini.
Stalin's uniform + Hitler's expression + Mussolini's headdress. ![]() |

Errr.. I think Ayu just wanted to portray a military dictator and wasn't into reflecting any political idealogy.

^I think you're right.
Maybe ayu just wanted to show propaganda and blind following (the women without ears). And I thought "rainy day" portrays a pre-war scenery (the 20s, for example). Because it seems rather peaceful and calm. I still question though, if they already had such kind of bus stations back then. ![]()
