Experimenting leads to disastrous sales and most artists know that. If you notice, most of J-Pop that sells well is rarely experimental. Kumi had to go pop and same goes to other artists who tend to experiment.

The same goes to the 'oh-no-falling-glass-I'll-save-you' scene...

In the end, Shawn's character is really unprofessional. I guess if he refused to go all lovey-duvey with her, she could fire him XD
Well, I guess it was a love at first sight sort of thing.

Instead of steamy-screened stuff we got shiny sparkles and lens flares. XD

Definitely clips joined together from the short film. Overally I liked this PV, the dancing in that blue dress was lovely. Ayu looked so great there

This slowly describes the downfall of J-Pop and the slow rising of American culture into Japanese music.. the very thing I tried to escape from. Experimental sounds and styles is what I adored in J-pop all this time and slowly it fades into the background. Some artists still dance to the beat of their own drums like Shimatani Hitomi, but I do see that she doesn't sell too well. Oh that Yen sign is getting stronger.. boo.

Same here, averageone.

But despite that fact, I think that J-pop still has a sound that manages to be different enough from the mainstream crap released over here..

Yeah I agree over there and I suppose little can be done about that one there. I'm a huge fan of Hitomi myself and I adore her crossover genre but lately hitting 20k is becoming a very hard task for her. It's a relief that she can still keep the contract with avex at least.

However at least artists focus on other things like talent rather than showing off skin. I don't mind sexy artists but when they overdo it or they use it solely to sell, it starts to grate to me.

like many ppl are saying the random clips doesn't flow with the song and the sound effects was a bit too much...some parts are so cheesy it made it laugh~ but i was expecting some cheesy scenes anyways

but overall i really liked this PV! it was entertaining! and it's really fun to see Ayu act in the PV!

don't worry..this is just a necessary promotional trailer video in order to sale the movie..
ayu and the producer tried to make something different and special.. but avex keep the same way to promote the artist..i means "VIDEO CLIPS" Taking the short movie abn destroying it

Surely even ayu or the director have seen this bad montage
(sorry for my english)

So if the formula works, it is bound to be reused yet again. She can't exactly risk her career to please a small percentage who want something "different".

However it still confuses me how people are no longer fans but still find time to come and complain.
Yep Yep those are the funny ones! they are like;

"she sucks!"
"she has not released any good music"
"I Dun like this single glitter/fated"
"I'm not her fan anymore"
"I'm not her fan"
YET They are still here and yet eventhough they are not fans anymore, they still have express their opinion on any matter, and I'm not talking about the good criticism I'm talking about those plains: "this sucks" "wassup with that" "ew" yeah! really clever!

They will probably keep complaining till one day they realize: what is that thing that still drives them to stay here and "follow ayu"

Is just weird.

PS: since I'm starting to sound like a whiner of whiners this will be the last comment I make on the subject! , they will be always funny I can get a good laugh now and then! lol

I think this is a good clip though the 'to-be-continue' thing is irritating, it does help to encourage sales - which I think is neccessary being practical.
Using the electronic translator to overcome language barriers - simple but I like.
Yeah this is definitely better than the beach pvs - not that they are bad, but then we see too many of them

Well, to be honest, I never really had any high hopes for the mini-movie thing, so I was actually pleasantly surprised by this PV. No, I don't think the song fitted it at all, the "slow pauses" drove me nuts, but overall I really did enjoy it. Then again, as we all know, I'm super easy to please. =)

imagine the dancing scene in the PV is actually the Glitter PV, now that would be disappointing watching Ayu doing random dancing again! xD

Glitter= boring defiantly on my worst PV's of the year list, i know its probably excerpts of the drama thing but seriously, make a fun glitter PV and leave the drama to itself.

...It's obvious that Ayu likes the movie Bodyguard.

But overall I have to say I didn't like it. If she wanted to do a short film, she should have done one and left the music out of it and then given the songs proper music videos. Glitter just does not really fit with the movie imo.

Also I just think the story is too trite and cliche. She already explored a similar theme in the Dearest video and that was done with much more subtlety and class I think. Also for a short film, I would have expected it to be better shot.

I thought the PV was awesome, it definitely made me like the song a million times more. In some parts of the PV, I do have to agree that it did not flow with the song and felt kind of separated. The storyline is lovely and Ayu looked awesome throughout the whole thing.

It's kinda funny that some say that they would prefer a beach PV. I wonder how many of those would have complaint if "glitter" was a beach PV...

As to ayu's recent music: Maybe she found her style.
ayu wasn't interested in music before her avex debut and even after it she hadn't much interest in it. It evolved sometime around Duty/I am... I guess that since then she tried to find her style, found it and now just enjoys making music.
Maybe this evolution is the reason why her first, say 5, albums differ from one another in style more than her recent releases.

I just now watched the video!

I did enjoy from the video, it made me to look forward to the whole movie!

I see that a lot of people didn't find the song fit to the PV.
Well most likely that's because it's part of the short film that will be in the single and not just the PV. I think we should watch the whole short film first.

I think that lyrically the song fits to the PV (they did it really good even if this is just a diggest PV) and it just was fun to hear it along with the PV.

I loved it ^_^ now I want to see fated.
