Sales up to date

Does anyone know what Ayu's total sales are to this day? I'm trying to put them in retrospect to other famous musicians. I heard somewhere that she's beaten Green Day in total sales. O_o

Well, using her avex sales (which has its biases, but probably kept longer records of sales than oricon, since the stop once it stops charting) it would probably at like 50~52 million.

Yep, what everone is using as "official sales" are actually Oricon records which is the highest regarded japanese records' sales chart, but I do think that avex sales would be more accurate actually. I don't know if those include taiwan, Hong Kong etc sales, but I'm pretty sure they include yesasia japan version sales and CDJapan sales plus many of the stores not counted by oricon.

Well....if we counted all her record sales, it has already surpassed 50 million. Wikipedia might not be an accurate source but i think...the record sales probably true though. She had already surpassed 50 million mark (more than 30 million albums and over 20 million copies...i think).

Yeah but Japan has a huge music industry (second buggest in the world) so it would be easier for Ayu, speaking english and japanese, to get aninternational career than say ... a polish man who could only speak polish .. or maybe even an american singer, since Ayumi would be able to appeal to both Music Industries.
