that's her personal opinion,tho
I won't pay much attention to some old singer..
eh,I doubt she knows Ayu & Nagase better than anyone else
she's quite confident tho
but I don't belive Ayu won't have any bf at all after Nagase..
why not?maybe ony due to the busy shedule...

=( crap? lol!
maybe both are being selfish, just that nobody knows..
about ayu having no bf after Nagase?
well, that depends on ayu herself to choose, since there are so many ppl out there.. who knows..~ wow but i'm quite surprised the old lady said it so straight forward... =)

As for the time frame...I don't really see her dating anyone in the public spotlight again, so maybe when she steps back from singing (not from music in general; I think she'll continue to write music for others and stuff) and performing she'll settle down? For some reason I've always seen Ayu as the type of person to get married in their late 30s or something.
Well I suppose it's up to her in the end. Ayumi is a pretty busy artist so she might choose career for a while. Relationships can be a stressful case for artists because the constant spotlight and paparazzi are not very helpful and the issue of privacy is always hanging around. Anyhow I just hope whatever she chooses will make her happy.

Thanks for sharing! But it's kind of sad...why did Wada Akiko think that in the future Ayu might not have another boyfriend, all because of Ayu being overexcited? I don't know who started the break-up.

True! Ayu can be quite diva-ish from time to time; she's only human. It seems like she and Nagase ended their relationship on friendly terms and that no one was demanding or whatnot but we can't rule out the possibility.

How uncouth, I don't think it is right at all to comment on someone else's personal life to the public, and it makes this Wada woman look ugly and immature.

some people seem to understand....^

it's not whether she's right or not, perhaps ayu was too selfish, whatever, I'm not bothered about that. what I'm annoyed about is the fact that she's saying anything at all, good or bad, it's none of her business, it's noen of anyone's business excpet ayu's and nagase's, and making a living out of gossiping about other's private lives is dispicable, simple as that.

leave them alone. especially in these kind of times.

I think that was rather unfair and judgemental, though she has the right to say what she feels, it was a bit of a bite. What goes on in their private life is, as the name suggests, private. She couldn't really know the true feelings of either of them, so it's not fair to say such things.

Of course Ayu can be like a diva sometimes. Pretty much all stars do. And yes, she's earning such an enormous sum of money and is extremely popular and rich, but with such a hugely tight schedule, pressure from the press, fan crowdings, and neverending concerts, who can possibly blame her for getting a little selfish sometimes? We all do, regardless of our status as a person.

Well all of Japan does. She is practically an institution over there. She is always showing up on every TV show, and she is actually quite nice, I think.

People REALLY need to understand these points:

Popular Japanese TV talk-show format calls for a panel of celebrity guests who sit around at a big table watching news clips and videos of other celebrities. And then they all discuss them. Wada is not coming out of nowhere, as this was the situation.

Wada is 57 years old, and has been around as a singer forever. Her opinion is a big deal in Japan, because of her experience in the industry.

Wada is an old woman, and her comments about Ayu come from that of a grandmother who nags her granddaughter, saying: "You're not getting any younger. You're nearing 30, and it's harder to date and get married when you're in your 30s."

And the fact of the matter IS that Ayu isn't getting any younger. She IS nearing 30. And it IS harder to date and get married when you're in your 30s, because everyone else is already settled down. PLUS throw in the fact that it's very difficult for celebrities to meet and date anyone period.

It is plain to see how it could be impulsive for anyone to throw away a 7 year relationship at Ayu's age. Some people would kill to have that kind of relationship when they're 28.

This is what Wada is pointing out, NOT in a nasty way, and she is absolutely right. Frankly if you disagree, you know little about the way things work.

However, Ayu KNOWS she is impulsive, she KNOWS she is childish, and she did what she felt would make her happiest. Supporting her in that is completely fine. But would you honestly call your own grandmother a "******** b*tch" for showing concern for your suddenly ending a long-term relationship with a good guy? Be realistic, people.

evolusean, you make such great points!! People on this board either don't seem to read others posts or are just trying to be rude. If you don't know who she is, you should do some research on her because she is a BIG deal in Japan. Also, if you don't understand the Japanese words that she said, and are going off a translation, you can't get the exact meaning of what she was saying. Wada is a very respectable woman and usually knows what she is talking about. Like said, she knows both Ayumi and Nagase better than anyone on this board does. How do you know that one of them didn't say something to her or do something to influence what she was saying? You don't, so calling her cuss words and saying she doesn't have a right to express her opinion on a subject that was made public isn't really right. Some people on this board are just...

THANK YOU. I also don't get the "She doesn't even know Ayu!!11!1" reactions because seriously...none of us do either.

Nagase Tomoya is a rather nice person from the many clips and TV appearances i've seen him in. he's very funny! he's also very well-respected around the celebrity / Johnny's Jimusho community, so i wouldn't be surprised if other people would comment more harshly on Ayu more than him.

don't take it to heart. she's simply expressing her opinion. but, i do agree with the fact that Ayu's almost nearing 30 and that it would be very hard to find someone because in Japan it's quite rare to see a woman her age without some sort of love interest.

finally a page with no Wada bashing in this thread. And evolusean, you should put your translation, and as well as your top post on this page, to page 1.
