I think it'll sell between 120-125k first week. Hopefully the tie in w/ Kaidan will make this single more of a slow burner than her last few singles were.

I think 1st week will be around 110k with the total sales around Startin'/Born To Be... (The chances of it selling over 200k look small)

Looks like that... It's going to be another Startin'/Born To Be... seller or a bit more.

Though I have to be insane to hope for that I hope for a longer chart run than her last singles...

I've always thought how some of Ayu's most recent releases would have fared if she had still been at her popularity peak, and if the music industry didn't suck so dang bad right now. *nods*

It's always a nice Thought but I don't think that internet downloads or anything having to do with online purchases have nothing to do with it. People choose to but them like that there not forced to. But I wonder that if internet downloads weren't invented would the sales still look the same as they do now.

Well, people obviously liked the song. Ayu broke-up too and do you see a huge increase in sales? And the single had a tie-in with a movie and the movie flopped BIG time in Japan, so it's not like Ayu isn't using the exact same tricks as Utada Hikaru, it just didn't work as well.

I think andre2907 is referring to the movie Kaidan.

Perhaps the single sales would increase once Kaidan is in theatres.

Hmm, well, BLUE BIRD sold about 168,000 its first week so I think glitter/fated definitely has a chance at breaking the 100,000 mark. I'm crossing my fingers for about 125,000.

As I said before CMs/movies tie-ins are nothing compared to drama tie-ins specially the Drama hikki's FoL was in with high ratings.
That's the reason leaving aside the divorce thing...
Sales started to really raise and shoot at the day this drama was aired and hikki's divorce message together, both or the drama gave FoL its high sales, without the tie in it would sell like boku wa kuma^_^.

^Those are good sales as well xD.

I'm really happy hikki could pull a 600,000k again, the tie-in was fabulous!!

I wish ayu would have such a good tie-ins >.< but as long as her sales are good it's fine!
If next single will have a CM hopefully it will be Panasonic.

Without the tie-in and the sob story of the divorce [arranged conveniently during FoL] she wouldn't be selling this hight with the single.

I kinda disagree with that. The divorce news wasn't announced until 3 days after the release of FOL. And the first two days' indicators were both over 30000. Of course I support that the tie-in do help a lot (and the divorce further pushed the single to heaven), but even without those two I'm sure it can sell over 200K overall.

Like someone in U.O-net said, there must be something we don't see within the song, which makes the Japanese love it (cuz I can't exactly see how excellent it is compared to her older works). Love so sweet did great on physical sales, but I doubt it passed 3 million downloads in just two months like what FOL did.
