Ikimasshoi has a surprising "article" written about Ayu at the event.. D:

On the opening day of “Kaidan” (Ghost Story), Hamasaki Ayumi and TOKIO’s Nagase Tomoya showed up to the premier. On the 13th of July to a special fanclub member event, Ayu appeared as a surprise guest and sang the opening song, “fated”.

On the 20th Ayu appeared on Music Station with about 30 centimeters of hair cut off. Also on her right shoulder, where a tattoo used to be, there is now nothing there. It caused around 50 reporters to question her urgently. The tattoo was being covered by foundation, and the when the reporters asked Hamasaki’s office what it was about, they only responded with the tattoo was a private matter and thus they didn’t know.

After the commotion finally blew over Ayu stated, “I am honored to participate in this remarkable piece of work. I thought it was a beautiful movie.” In which the hall then bursted out in cheers.

And about the hair. We already knew about it, so why the panic? Jeez.

Yeah, but this time supposedly it was really really noticable. There was a lighter-than-normal patch on the upper right part of her back [the patch was foundation, at least that's what Sanspo/Yomiuri say..]

Oh well. I don't think she wants to get rid of the tattoo necessarily, but she probably doesn't want to go around showing it off especially when the relationship is over.

But then again, why not just wear a blouse with sleeves? Perhaps she was trying to make a statement to the world or something? [Hopefully not to hurt Tomoya, as someone else has suggested..]
